ALRIGHTY she started up today idles once she warms up but has major power loss and is totally gut less idk what is causing that its getting fuel and the guy who owned it before me did a ************ load of weird stuff to the intake hoses that go into the air filter so i think theres a major air leak somhwere but idk where to even start looking since hoses are missing thats my only idea as to the power loss do any of you experts have any insight ? thanks for your help so far
  2. i humbly agree had i known the ruts were gonna swallow me i would have turned around ill do a spark test when i locate my test light and the battery recharges thanks for the insight
  3. I. Did wd40 the disty and I checked compresion and air still got fuel issues the wirings all futzed but it I give fuel straight to the carb it won't fire up either
  4. so i got stuck in a fatty mud pit last night and she was buried up to the bottom of the doors in liquid mud idled the whole time winched her out still idleling went to climb out of the gully and she died fuel pump was shorted out and air filter was soaked so got pulled to the road jerry rigged the fuel pump and it about 5 miles and she started gasping and died tried to start her today and she turns over but wont start distributer had condensation so im letting that dry and the carb is airing out but i dont know what else to check since ive never swamped a rig before any ideas? its an ea81 1.8l

  6. LACK OF FUNDS and i have an ea81 flywheel so yeah
  7. If i drill the Ea81 flywheel out so it is the same size as the EA82 it will mount up fine.. but will it work well or cause problems down the line? has any one done this and with what result. thanks bryce ps. will this work with an EA82 5sp d/r tranny
  8. ok so what model tranny am i looking for and will i be able to use my manually engaged 2 case with it? i know on newer (90's) have a electronic relay that engages the 4wd so can i use the t case and a newer tranny or is that out of the question
  9. its a 1984 4 spd manual with a 1.8 L and on demand dual range 4wd
  10. im not sure what it is i believe its dual range. 2wd 4hi 4lo and i have a 4 speed tranny and its just not enough gear and the tranny has over 304,000 miles on it so how effective would rebuilding it be? so what your saying is that the engine is no problem theres adapters to make it fit the original tranny but if i want to put in a 5spd tranny and still keep my dual range it has to be a 4wd dual tranny?
  11. I want to know what if i can take an AWD 2.2L with a 5spd transmission and put it in my DL wagon and Still KEEP the on demand 4WD instead of instead of AWD? thanks for your help
