  2. nice read here.... and another forum I think I'll be joining!!
  3. nice nice find... sounds like it's worth 'gushing' over. enjoy! Take care of it and it will take care of you.
  4. for fogged headlights, I use turtlewax rubbing compound. has worked very well on the last cars I've had this problem with.
  5. that low hanging trailer hitch is a fail (imho) ... losing valuable clearance with the dredge dangling there. Otherwise, nice for beating the trails. Yeah, spring for a windshield but you aren't gonna hurt it much. We might all be surprised how well it cleans up.
  6. welcome... you've got quite a stable to choose from. how do you decide??
  7. I once did a heater core in an 84 Sub wagon... EW!! 'Oh, the horror!!"
  8. I'll answer that one!! Around Pdx is logging country... one can bomb down gravel roads, spin the wheels on muddy ruts or find deep mires to test just what you can get through. Then an hours drive toward the coast and there are off road parks, where he can mix it up with dirt bikes, sand rails and fat tired modified american 4wd full sized rigs.
  9. Welcome aboard; Keep us posted and do put up pics. We're kinky... very visual, you know.
  10. whoa... invaders from the land down below! hahaha welcome aboard!!
  11. Hahaha nice idea.... I think I remember seeing old VeeDub engines dropped into trikes. Probably the simplest would be one of the older carb fed engines... I don't know about the tranny/ RWD setup. I'm sure some of the gurus here will have some thoughts. Welcome!!
  12. Yo Yo! The eastside of Philly represents!! I'm just inside Phl proper, between Street Rd and Woodhaven Rd - in the shadow of Bensalem. More n more SE Pennsylvanians dropping in. We're gonna have to start a chapter. Welcome to the board. Lots of help and info here. Read old posts, use the search feature for particular topics.... you'll pass lots of time and learn all along the way. The folks here are friendly and helpful. Many experts to tell you all about your 2.3.... BTW FWIW, it's not a V4. It's a "Boxer engine" "Flat Four" or "Horizontally Opposed" - - - (ala older Volkswagens, Subarus, BMW motorcycles and many light airplane engines). Historically, they are very very dependable and durable. Think H rather than V.
  13. we have folks from this board in Connecticut... But you'd probably do well to get the timing belt done on that before she leaves... has it ever been done? If not, you're certainly due. Search here for more info... most would include assorted tensioners, pulley, water pump, perhaps even some seals. Cover many bases now and you're golden for a long long while.
  14. Yo YO!! Bucks County/ Woodhaven Rd area for me. Welcome aboard. Glad to see some SE Penn members logging in.
  15. 95 Lego... odometer reads 112K but I think it's a swapped out meter from jy. I believe 200K+ is more correct. Paperwork and inspection stickers show 200k, mega rust underneath. No Carfax but I'm curious. I only paid $1300, so I'm not crying too loud. Car is in good shape and runs great, TB issues aside. Purchased in late October. Nearly immediately installed FWD fuse. Torque Bind, "but, of course". Replaced missing CEL bulb in dash. Pulled codes. Replaced Knock Sensor and cleared codes. Mileage increased from 15-17 mpg to 21-22. Early November put on four new tires, pulled FWD fuse. Have done several one and two gallon swaps on ATF. Torque Bind now felt only mildly, only occasionally. More drain n replace cycles to follow. Late November swapped front pads n rotors Just did rear pads n rotors with LR caliper. Pending: O2 Sensor and parking brake shoes (life on a budget) http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=7036&d=1257083789
