  1. junk yard here in Idaho has the most loyales I have ever seen at 1 junkyard, they had a pretty good RX turbo and couple other gems, they had a Xt-6, went back to grab a hub swap, GONE!! asked where it went...... the SMASHER:eek:, seems like they are getting rid of the old beauties........ -Nomad
  2. sometimes the cone washer/spacer can be messed up behind the castle nut...check to see if all hardware is properly tighten. some times its the opposite side wheel bearing then you think its coming from.... If it was the cv joints it would be like a click, click click as you turn 1 way or another while in gear and will def get worse and louder, if it constant then that makes me think its something to do with wheel bearings, or maybe a rock stuck in the brake pad?... Good luck and hopefully you solve you problem..... -Nomad
  3. sounds like a cv going out. which is way common, the rubber boots torn at all? -Nomad
  4. Valvoline "max life" 5w 30 full synthetic, I have a 1990 spfi loyale wagon with 218,000 miles and the full synthetic has improved the motor by far, does leak tiny bit of oil but not to much to worry about, I also added the lucas oil full synthetic additive (which is PRICEY!!!) but it also help a bunch, I think I due up for a change before snow fall and hink I'm going to use the same product. on another note, I heard if you use royal purple, you can't ever use any other oil in your ride, is this true of myth? -Nomad
  5. YO WHATS UP! Im in Boise (use to live in Nampa) I drive a 1990 Loyale wagon, nice to see some Idahoans on here. Maybe we should meet up sometime, wouldn't might checking out a bad rump roast brat, and I guess the WRX is ok:lol:, but yeah, we need to unite more idaho people to this badass useful site! -Nomad
  6. I think I could fix it for under $200 for sure, how do I get a check form their insurance as to them just paying a auto body shop direct? I wanna run! -Nomad
  7. Got into a fender bender with a UN-American but he had insurance, got a quote today to fix the scuff and replace the molding and new smoked tail light....drum roll please.......$999.30 estimate!!!! I paid $1000 for the entire car 40,000 miles ago, good thing it was his fault.......... Nomad
  8. Damn , people tell me that mine looks pretty clean, but this "whitey" makes my car look like it belongs in the junkyard (jk) but yeah I gave never seen that chrome panels, WWAYYYYY STYLISH!!! and if I saw this car and my mon didn't buy it I would cry too:eek: hahaha SWEET SWEET RIDE -Nomad

  11. Bought a set of FIVE old spoke rims, getting them sand blasted tomorrow, will take some before and after pictures, scored the set of rims for $10 off CL, the dude had a SICK lifted brat with peugos and custom bumper and light bar, had another wagon ea81 turbo wagon he said he was planing on putting into the brat and some mag style black and chrome set of rims in almost perfect condition. -Nomad QUICK QUESTION Should I powder coat the rims WHITE or BLACK, its a white loyale wagon........
  12. I have heard of it, but never really been up there, you like by Sandpoint and stuff? Nomad
  13. 25 spline style is for Turbo models I believe, 23 is for non turbo, at least that is to the best of my knowledge. I ordered 23 spline for both side front and they slid right in. I drive a 1990 ea-82 on the fly loyale.... -Nomad

I used the "hammered" ratttle can on mine and they looked good for like a week, and now I want to repaint them...maybe should use better product or maybe go the clear coat way......I wanna get em sandblasted and restart but broke as broke could be....someday -Nomad
  16. Came across this at the JY: Smoked out the blinkers (right one done, left stock to see difference in pic) decided to paint the bumpers and trim (in process) before (back): after (night and day difference, can't really tell in pic) front bumper is in the mist of mask and painting, apparments are soooo lame with rules about working on cars. DON'T MOVE into APARTMENTS if yo wanna work on cars:grin: -Nomad
  17. just some little tab/pill product. its a nickname for them, its kinda like a compressed power tab...if that doesn't make things worse:grin: but don't worry about them unless you get a leak..... -Nomad
  18. kinda different problem but if you do break something loose when flushing it... I actually had a leak in my ea-82 when I first got it and I used "Cadillac Tabs" from the GM dealer and I haven't had 1 problem since..... -Nomad
  19. Careful when "flushing" radiator, you might break some gunk loose and have a bigger problem then before, I have heard that it can hurt the radiator and I have heard it works amazing, I think prestone has a rad flush product....I would just b extremely careful -Nomad
  20. Anybody have anymore input before the trip to the parts house? time is ticking:lol: -Nomad
  21. yeah there is no grinding or anything and shift just fine (2nd clutch) but I think its time to give her some fresh fluids....but as for the read diff, I probably got the stock oil which could be like soup now...Just wanna keep her maintained -Nomad
  22. Really? Synthetic is bad in this case? I'm running full synthetic motor oil already and have read nothing but good things about the synthetic gear oils... -Nomad
  23. You running synthetic? brand? I've been reading mostly about the redline stuff and the lucas oil stuff... -Nomad
