Im staying here in Vancouver off I-205, been staying here during the week since april and will be hanging around until probably late september. Would like to check out your wagon sometime, it really looked good and I like the sound of the exhaust. I was considering going sti muff on my wagon project, ej20G, but im not sure now:) Cheers, Mark

Saw this rig at the academy, Im installing glass in the new vancouver library across the street. loved how it sounded even at slow speed driving thru the parking lot, cool looking rig Dude! Nice clearance at 6" with 29's, I guessed 4" and 27's... Cheers, Mark

Seen today in Vancouver, late 80's L wagon, charcoal paint , lifted with super swampers ( i think ) nice sounding exhaust..anyone on here? Nice ride

Its difficult but if you can get to the hose clamps from below you should be able to change it. If not and you have to remove the turbo you will need the water hose,turbo gaskets and you should replace the oil hose. Theres also a metal line that runs to the cylinder head thats anchored with a banjo bolt and it uses 2 copper sealing washers. In this area I would use oem parts. heres a link to a factory service manual for your ea82 engine. http://www.ch601.org/engines.htm

94 Loyale needs a little help

Probably not as important as it is for the turbo charged ea82's, but typically an older subaru L will run about 1/4 gauge on the temp. The fsm lists operating temp ( as I recall ) at 209 +/- 14 degrees. I would recommend a temp sender replacment. I know a few people that have done this and all of a sudden there running 1/2 scale etc. Hope im not qouting ea82t specs, its been awile. I installed an aux gauge and sender tapped into my water pump by pass hose to the heater and find 190 to 200 normal, and my gauge still sits at 1/4 scale. Cheers, Mark -

A factory service manual is your friend, well worth the price and usually ebay is a good source. Im asuming it has an ea82 engine. Heres a link to download a fsm covering the engine, cooling, electrical and fuel system( thus everything about pulling and understanding codes etc) consider it a stop gap until you get the entire fsm. That is a very clean wagon! Congrats. I would recommend you service the coolant hose for the turbo. This hose can and has split on ea82t's and as your pumping your coolant out of the engine the temp gauge will not register the overheating as its no longer in water, and overheating will kill your engine! I think this is a big part of the "hate" towards this engine. I have 3 and will be swapping 2 for ej's, the 3rd im not keeping. Cooling system upkeep is critical. Does your temp gauge run about 1/4 scale? If so you may want to replace your temp sender..better yet an auxillary temp gauge is highly recommended and easy to install ( buy a good quality name brand gauge) and stay with oem on hoses and senders. And most importantly, enjoy your new ride:)

Not alot of progress today, but I installed a pair of RX inner arms and a sway bar. Ive decided to source longer brake hoses instead of relocating the clamps and I had to put a little heat to the fittings so all the hoses will be replaced. Cheers, M

I purchased my ej20g from Foreign Engine in Lynnwood, I dont recall seeing any half cuts but they had racks and crates of ej stuff everywhere. Worth giving them a call.
