  1. does the parts car you mentioned have all the trim pieces? specifically, the ones around the doors?

  2. hey, i just traded my lifted wagon for a 1988 subaru xt6. everything seems to be in pretty solid condition, it just needs new paint and some trip pieces. also, im worried about emissions. it doesn't have a cat, and it needs to be tested before the title gets transferred. if anyone is parting out an xt, i would really like to talk to you.
  3. wow, it looks pretty much the same then...but the rack was mounted on the hood?
  4. well the reason im asking is because the wiring is completely hectic....and the car is starting to sag on the front passenger side and i would like to know what the make of the lift kit is so i can replace it. and im not sure about the wheels, i cant find any kind of writing or serial number on them that indicates a particular manufacturer.
  5. hey all, i bought this 1986 gl from pyro926 last november, and i was trying to get some information on where it came from, and who originally lifted it. i know that it had USMB stickers on it before pyro bought it, and i know it has alot of accessories from allied, like the bumper and possibly the lift? the VIN is JF2AN53B1GE483433. i have seen pics of it all over the net, on youtube and even on a VW forum (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4613071&page=3). i would really like to know the history of my car, if anyone knows anything about it PLEASE let me know.
  6. hey, i have a 1986 subaru gl with the D/R 5 speed tranny. whenever i accelerate fairly hard, the 4wd indicator lights up on my dashboard. is this a transmission problem? or is it just some kind of faulty fuse?
  7. if you wanna know more about sjr lifts, ask the guy with the user name Scott in Bellingham. hes the one who makes them. again, i dont know too much about subies, so i suggest posting some of your questions in the forums.

  8. if its getting hot, install another cooling fan. the timing belts have a tendency to fall off, at least on both of my subies. and using the A/C during the summer can make them overheat, so i would recommend pulling it out.
  9. i have a 1986 gl ea82 wagon...its got the muffler off the turbo model, which is a bit dented bus still sounds pretty good. i was wondering if i should keep that muffler, or maybe put on a cherry bomb glass pack? would that get me more horsepower? do they sound ok on subarus? im very new to these cars.
  10. well, i would reccomend sjr lift kits

get a 4 inch lift and you should have no problem clearing 28" mud terrains.

and as for getting more power, you can do that a multitude of ways. im just getting into subies, im mainy a ford guy so i dont know too much. obviously, a new exhaust system would help. and who knows about that electric turbo...i know that they kick rump roast in toyotas.

  11. i think theres some chemical you can buy at autozone that cleans your tank...i dont really know.
  12. i was helping a friend put on his spare tire today after he got a flat, and it made me realize just how screwed I would be if that happened to me. i have a 4 inch lift kit and 28 inch mud terrains, and as a result, i have 21.5 inches of clearance between my jack point and the ground. my dinky little scissor jack can only reach 10 inches. what kind of jack would you recommend?
  13. thanks guys. I will probably be doing the swap pretty soon, because not only is my 1.8 liter a gutless turd like you said, it seems to be only averaging about 8-10 mpg city. my f-250 gets better gas mileage then that.
  14. i jsut bought a 1986 GL wagon, and i have been hearing alot about swapping the 2.2 liter subaru legacy engines in. if you have done this to your subaru, can you give me a rough estimate on how much that will cost? will i need a new tranny?
