Hey Im in need of new tires soon. Im looking at some different sizes. Was thinking of trying out 205/75/15 General Grabber AT2s. I know some here have said they fit that size just fine, just double checking. Its a 99 Outback, stock height. Original size is 205/70/15 as many of you already know. Im learning from the previous owners mistake to never buy generic brand tires. Iva had two of them go bad on me. When I say bad I mean steel belt breaking and sticking through the tread. The tires are nowhere near bald. And the two times this has happened there has been no puncture, just belts coming through the tread somehow. They are some sort of tire called Lexingtons. They suck horribly.

I have to disagree with the ABS statement. I had a bearing seize on my 99. Play was so bad I had over an inch of play when wiggling the tire. No ABS Light. Just a completely destroyed hub. Actually pulled the hub out with one hand thats how much play there was. Pulled a whole spindle out of a junkyard for 50 bucks, put a new balljoint in and called it a day.

in my case cost is no issue seeing as I have the tires already. Bought em for my Camaro when I was running 15s, but changed to 16s before I could use em. And no, not worried about turning with larger tires, especiall seeing as the difference is so minor. Not sure when that might apply, maybe if running 275s....but nothings gonna make that much of a difference.

Well. A nice chain of events may have ruined my axle seal in the front. Im not sure of the correct name of this seal, the one on the transmission(transaxle?) side. I had my strut on the passenger side brake into two pieces (pics will be up tomorrow) While replacing it the strut pushed on the spindle and pulled th cv axle out. And now I have a leak. We put the axle back in and it slid in nice and easy. No idea how it could have ruined the seal. So, anyone got a part number for the seal, where I could get it or even the correct name? Oh I also had the brake bleeder brake off on my new caliper...thank god for lifetime warranties.

Also. Just wondering if anyone knows the size of the brake line fittings on these. Is it that standard one used on japanese cars, or something different. If anyone knows the exact size that would be awesome, I wouldnt have to drive over to take one off of it. Planning on buying a roll of brake line and a bunch of fittings, If I see line I dont like, its getting replaced.

Alright Im in my first Subaru as of last week. I bought a 99 Subaru Legacy Outback for 300 bucks. Previous owner parked it because of a broken window. Over time one of the rear brake lines went. And one of the foglights was broken. All in all not a bad deal for 300 bucks, at all. Ive already swapped another hatch onto it from another outback. Unfortunately mine is green, and it has a white hatch now. But I can get it sprayed come spring. And heres some pictures. Also the interior looks bad in the pics....but in person it looks great, the batteries are long gone lol.
