  1. Living here in NC running the roads from WNC to Piedmont every week for the last 14 years, and numerouse times to Atlanta and TN...I run 40 in the front and 39 in rear and have had no problems. The only time I lower it will be when and if it snows or there is chance of ice. The advantage of higher preasure is that the tire is harder and will last longer and wear more even. The disadvantage is handling on curvy winding mountain roads ( 2 lane road or parkway ) at high rate of speeds but no problem on the Highway. but i also run higher tread wear tires such as 580 tread wear or more rather than the lower soft rubber tires for racing

  3. push lightly and turn to right till it clicks then turn again back and forth till it clicks in again .... and then do it one more time for the 3rd time till it clicks in and then it is in.... If you dont get it to click in 3 times then when you bolt it up you will destroy the pump.
  4. its real easy on the 2.2's ... Unplug the sensor from the top then lay under the car with i think 21mm or 15/16 or 7/8 wrench and it is almost center of the y pipe. I recomend squirting some WD 40 about 5 min before and it will come out easy. ( oh yeah when you unplug it reach down at bottom of tranny by the axle and bend the metal piece out that holds the O2 wire away from the axle) Its an easy do it yourself job
  5. Yes I did an install for Greenmarine on the SVX board. He bought the tranny and kit from Brian in Washington at i think Small car. Then he brought his car to me and Jason porter came up to help with a few others and did the wiring on the inside while i did the removal and install. Also Huck from the SVX board Did the first home grown install using an older legacy tran or Impreza tranny and Cable clutch.
  6. I would start by looking at the used parts place for some used stuts... so you will have the springs and spring tops. then go to parts places and se what you can get stuts for. I can get new stuts for 260.00 And i might have some used struts for the spring tops and springs.
  7. is it an octane ping or could it be Lifter Tap???? Try changing the oil and add some Marvel Mystry Oil to it and also go up in your octane for awhile and see if it wont clear out..
  8. The best cure is to replace them with regular struts... but thats just my opinion. I just dont like to try to fix the air one knowing they are 13 years old and having the hasle. I have replace 3 different cars from Air to regular struts and havent had a problem with any of them. Where in NC are you? I am near Asheville.....
  9. Look at your Bill and see if there were any plugs added on your bill.... What brand of plugs are in the car? Did you install them or someone else previously before the car was worked on? They may have or have not removed them when checking for warpage, But if they sufaced the head then they would have removed them. Just be sure that who ever installed the plugs before the problem didnt install them wrong first so as not to accuse the the wrong persons. There is a good chance the machine shop removed them depening on the motor. What engine are you working? on some spark plugs extend through the the head anough to pass the surface of the head so they would have to be romved to be checked.... Tell us what engine you have and maybee i or someone else can tell you more.
  10. Yes replace it yourself with a used one.... there are 4 screws on the plate cover under the carpet in the back and 3 hoses one plug in and about 8 - 10 (8mm) nuts holding it in. Its about a 30 min job to 45 to do it yourself You might even test the conections inside the tank ( i had one that just had a bad conection and needed to be tightened )
  11. Hey... been there with your problem. First its not and expensive problem, lay the back seat down and raise the carpet up onto the back seat... then on the passenger side up near the seat you will find a metal plate with 4 screws in it and remove them..... then un plug the white conector and get a test light ( test each wire with the light by someone else briefly turning the ignition over ... I think it is the thick red wire i believe there are two thicker wires and 3 thin ones ) If you are getting fire then it is the posibility of pump or bad conection inside tank you can take a batterey with two wires and conect to the two terminals inside the conection to see if working properly or remove the pump system there are about 8 to 10 (8mm) nuts and 3 hoses to remove then you can test the pumpw ith it out by stating at conection and then each end of the wires all the way down to the pump ( i had a bad connection on one of mine where the wire plugs in on the inside of the tank i just removed it and scratch the suface then squezzed the connector tighter and forced it back on ) never stopped running) If you are not getting fire at the connector to the pump there is a relay under the dash above the fuse box either the (green, brown or white connector ) any manual will tell you. Good luck i have a pump for a 92 wagon for 25+shipping if you cant find one
  12. Where is the beast place to buy Head gaskets for a 97 OB 2.5 ? Would the OEM dealership be best or are there some better aftermarket brands to use?
  13. I changed over a few weeks ago... But i already had extra springs and tops laying around off a parts car. I just orderd front and rear struts from Car Quest.... put the springs and spring caps on and installed. The rear spring caps or top or what ever you want to call it has to be off a 92 to 94 AWD the front can be off FWD or AWD
  14. I have the left Air strut... Or i have the springs and tops. Where in SC are you? You can Email me if you want...
  15. if you cant find one i have a cpl of them. Shane morningstar_subarus@yahoo.com
  16. Hey, First of all your radiator is cracked on the front of the tank on the right side ( Passenger ) throw the radiator away and get a new one. Thats is the side that the hotest water returns to the radiator. If you get a used one you might get lucky and get a good one ( but remember your using a 10 to 13 year old radiator that you know nothing about how well it was taken care of ) When filling radaitor...Fill it till full with the radiator bleader screw out.. also fill it through the bleder screw side also. Fill it till fluid pours from both sides. Did you get a new thermostat from Subaru? Some aftermarkets do not work very well.... Test your system by removing the old thermostat and cutting the center out of it and place back in ( you might have to replace the rubber O ring if it leaks when filling it... you can run it a few days or longer like that it wont hurt. If it runs cool replace with a new thermostat from SUBARU and replace the cracked radiator with a good aftermarket ( I use Modine ) Check your fans to see if they are working.. It is easy to check the AC fan .... just turn on your AC and the fans should start running
