1987 DL damp weather power fades
opus replied to StrobeWylan's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Mine has vacuum at all times. When it is cold, the little do-hicky in the snorkel allows the vacuum to close the flap. When it warms, it closes it. -

Optimal Exhaust on 1800 motor

The bigger diameter the pipe, the less low end you will have. -
It can be a bugger, but you can do it with a ratchet. I did a few and had to do a little prying, or have someone stand on the bumper. If not, a wrench will work. Amazing little buggers at times.

Have you a part number for the heater? I assume it is a threaded block heater that goes in the hole? Without looking, I am guessing it is the big plug on the front. I wonder what it will take to get that out. -
My pleasure. I also add ej22 manuals there as well.

Popping out a freeze plug is not really an option for me at 0 degrees outside. -
The # is acid etched generally on the fuel bowl...if I recall correctly. I have seen quite a few where it hasnt lasted the 20+ years.

What particular model heater and where do you end up putting it, under the spare, in the heater hose? -

You had a chain saw in the back, what are you complaining about? -
I'd love to see more pics when you can. Mikinui's are great, and simple to deal with. Sure would like to hear how they performed.
