Bad part about all of this is that if it involves more than 2 or 3 wires, its over my head. :/ Thats the main reason I am opting for replacements.

I thought I once saw a "rally' type light that would accept these lightbulbs. If that were the case I would get a set of them and pull the bulbs out of the headlights and put them in the new. I probably wont rewire the whole car to fix the headlights, if I can add something and just do away with the old. I want bright lights and I want them tomorrow.
-
Nope, corrected that as well.
-
Did the Sylvanias, helped a little but not much. Have had the lights all apart as well. Cant put anything under the bumper in this country. Too much snow, rocks and gravel, etc.
-
They will be better than stock? Can I wire them directly to the headlight switch?

Ugh, I cant take it any longer. I am about to cut a set of lights out of an F250 and duct tape them in. Buckets are good, got new lights as well. I cant see deer at night with them so I drive about 40mph and it is so painful! Any aftermarket suggestions?

1987 DL damp weather power fades
opus replied to StrobeWylan's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thats what it is. I have the same issue here. I cant find a hot air tube though. Need to find something to make one out of. Mine seems to be about 3' long and NAPA doesnt have one. -
Ranch, but really no need for irrigation, although I could pump out the river if need be. As for generator I have a military genset with a 4 cyl engine, just like the soob. This engine however is 32 cu in. Pistons are about the size of a shot glass I would think. You could hear it from there if I started it.

I used to drive school bus, I am used to it.

Why do I feel that everyone making suggestions is of the pre-puberty age group? LOL!

But now we venture from the practical realm.

Actually, thats what prompted me to post. $6000, you must be in a different tax bracket than I am. I was thinking a stationary unit, like a generator, etc.
-
Wow, you all give impractical ideas, or idea that will cost me a ton of money. Whats with that? I was trying to find a reasonably affordable solution, plus something I could actually make use of.
-
Ok, practical suggestions.
-
I figure I will build a tube frame for it and leave room at the flywheel to attach something to it. Whether it be an irrigation pump or a generator head, welder, coffee grinder. Keep the ideas coming.

Bwwwaahhhaaaa!!

What to do, what to do...... Its just the engine though. Generator, irrigation pump?

I'll do it....if the snow ever stops.

Fuel filter was changed 3 months ago. Could be it, but I doubt it. No O2 sensor [never was]. There is hardly any wires left in this. Emissions and all but necessary stuff has been removed, its pretty bare bones. I ran it and stood by with ether. When it started to die, I gave it a sniff and it would keep running. It would start with ether if I tried it. There is no gas to the carb.

Under the rear seat...interesting. So there should be voltage without the key on/with the key on? Where would the relay be located? Pics?

86' GL Wagon runs....5 mins later it dies from no gas [it will do this a couple times]. Hard to believe it would be gas filter. I am assuming its the pump. Whats the best way to check the pump, and where is the blasted thing? Can I pull a line off an turn on the key and will it pump then or is there a regulator or such?
