A valve seat has popped out.
-
Anyway to fix this without driving 150 miles to a shop?
-
Move....

I was thinking that too but everything checked out with my multimeter. Maybe I'll just find some clean replacements and go that route. These on there are shot.

Nice...contacted him. Thanks.

What else during a motor reseal?
opus replied to nrwphoto's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I have 2, this one and a turbo that I'm selling. This one is stock except for the weber. You could always take spin up the north fork, towards Glacier. My son lives in Kalispell, I get there often. -
Thank you! I've done all this before. Not interested in doing it again. Not interested in fixing the existing lights. I was looking to see if anyone has use non Subaru headlights in their place. Maybe something like a Hella 90mm module or such.
-
I obviously need parts that are readily available. Your setup doesn't help me..... Although a nice setup. I can't put a lot into this project. HID would be nice but I'll have to settle for the same style bulb as in there now. I need new reflectors mainly.

Just read what he did. I'm not wanting to fuss at all with the original lights. Not caring what it looks like either, I'm just going to hit a deer, moose, elk, lion, sheep or bear again. I'd prefer round lamps by far.

Thank you. I searched a bit and found nada.....

I'm 120 miles west of you and my Weber works just fine. Go for it! Dont spend much money though, you wont get much gain. Gear oil in the tranny makes things difficult here in the cold. Not saying thats your trouble but its been mine a couple times. I always run ATF in my 5 spd D/R. I'm sure there will be some poo poo on that but I've been doing it for 15 yrs now. -
Has anyone trashed the stock '86 GL headlights and cobbed in some sort of aftermarket halogen headlamps? ANYTHING is better than what these are. I've taken them apart, cleaned them, etc. They are too far gone to make better.
-
Thats the plan.....
-
I really doubt its the CTS, but good to know. Still thinking fuel pump....maybe.
-
"Potentiometer" huh? You highly overestimate me. LOL! I replaced the CTS. The plug was broke so I afixed a couple connections and stuck them on. Not sure if there was a right or wrong way. I wouldnt think so but who knows. It starts hard. More hard when its warm. Sometimes it idles fine [warm] and sometimes it will drop to 450-500 and try to idle. Almost like its missing. Check compression and checked to see if its missing, and its not. Its not flooding, it seems to be leaning out if anything. I'll hold the pedal down to 1700rpm. After about 30 secs it will start to run right again. No smoke. Maybe a weak fuel pump? Just not sure.
-
Can I bypass the CTS for diagnostic purposes? Mine doesnt have a plug. I can switch wires to either side. Is there a right/wrong way to have the wires? Not sure if its the culprit or not. 86 Turbo GL10.
-
How many filters are there? I know of the big one under the hood, is that it?
-
Anyways, its a turbo. I think I should be fine now once I find time to do it. Thanks for the input one and all.

I found out one was not a manifold bolt, I took that out. The other was so I cut the bracket. I was able to take the other 2 out. That's as far as I've got on it.
-
I've never had any brand axle fail, only the boots.
-
I think these would be them. I'm about ready to yank it all and go rubber!
-
Ok, it looked like those were the long bolts that went into the coolant passage. I've had my time with those and I dont really want to have to fuss with them to do injectors. I am not wanting the project of pulling the manifold off to fix a snapped bolt. I was hoping there was a trick to doing it without going to that much depth. Stupid design....
-
Let me try this; has anyone ever pulled injectors out of an MPFI ea82?
-
Got any tips for pulling the injectors? The bracket is secured to an intake bolt...I believe it is. I surely dont want to open that can of worms just to pull injectors. Anyone know for sure? Doesnt look like a fun job from this angle.
