  1. I installed an XT6 5MT (3.9 ratio) ring and pinion into a full time 5MT (3.7 ratio) dual range and it works. I think that your ring and pinion swap should fit. It's a fair amount of work though.
  2. Here is the slanted style console in my 1983 EA81 Wagon.
  3. By a nice Snap On ratchet and you will have it for a long time. They are expensive but worth it IMO. I think that they make a style just like that Champion one too.
  4. I would suggest flow testing the radiator to make sure that it isn't plugged up. Simply hook up a garden hose to one outlet and watch the other one flow, or not.
  5. My question would be why are you having so many CV boot failures. I have 4 modified EA series cars one of which has a 4" SJR Lift with 15" wheels. The last time I changed a CV boot or axle on any of them was years ago. Are your motor mounts and pitch-stopper good? Is your car lifted?
  6. You don't see "wheelie bars" and an EA82 in the same photo very often! LOL
  7. I am trying to understand what you are asking so I can help. So, the trans no longer shifts since you opened it up to swap the stubs?
  8. Thank you for this. Some of the older power window switches are fixable like that too.
  9. You'll need 2 complete rear calipers with brackets and bolts, pads, rotors (with rear hubs), backing plates, and I would grab the rear brake hoses as well. You don't need to touch the bearings.
  10. If you get stuck I still have some pictures of my EJ swap shift linkage that might help.
  11. @Mike104 That number comes up so it looks like anyone can buy it. Kinda pricey though
  12. Glad you got it sorted! If titanium isn't handy a liberal coating of anti-seize might help.
  13. The SPFI conversion file is here in my Dropbox; https://www.dropbox.com/s/k4kdbpaclc6sko4/EA81_SPI_guide.pdf?dl=0 Until it isn't
  14. I my opinion it's a good idea to give the rest of the exhaust system a quick look while your at it. If the pipe/muffler hangers are missing or in bad shape this helps to rip the studs out of the heads, even if you just repaired them.
  15. This thread was lots of fun to read through Thank you for taking the time to share it! The pictures are awesome too
