Crazyeights replied to d8usti5n's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I have an 83 Wagon with a 4 inch lift. My Rancho 5000s went bad shortly after I installed them. I am also looking for a for durable replacement. -
Can't find an old thread

I think you are looking for Nico's Retro GL-10 build. I am having trouble posting the link this morning. -
I haven't made any more progress on this yet.

Welcome There is a service bulletin or TSB about this from Subaru. The ABS relay may be stuck on. I think it is mounted behind the headlight near the ABS motor. Try tapping on that relay with the ABS pump still running and see if it turns off. You might be able to get by with replacing just the relay although I think it is recommended to replace the entire ABS pump assembly. Good Luck

I just received this Loyale white gauge face kit in the mail and it looks great I can't wait to see it at night with JesZek's LED mods. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1990-1992-Subaru-Loyale-Tach-Analog-Dash-Instrument-Cluster-White-Face-Gauges-/381685711779?fits=Make%3ASubaru&hash=item58de3dc3a3:g:Dr0AAOSwOVpXctKP

It's a good idea to inspect or replace the heater control valve while it's all out too.

I'll send you a complete unmolested rocker assembly. Please PM with any markings you can find on your rocker shaft so I can match up the correct one. I know it sucks but try and have patience, you'll get it running yet This type of thing happens a lot when you are working on older cars. -
Plan - A You could try taking an old serpentine belt and wrapping it around the crank pulley like a strap wrench.. The trick is to wrap the belt back over on itself (thereby destroying the belt) and hooking it over something else on the engine. Hint, another nearby pulley works great. You are using an old belt as a strap wrench. Some people will tell you this will ruin the crank pulley so look at it with common sense. If the outer ring is mounted on rubber then perhaps on to plan "B" instead, Plan - B Try putting a screwdriver or pry bar through one of the holes in the flex plate and brace it against the block, again using common sense not to ruin anything. Plan - C Buy or borrow the really cool special Subaru crankshaft holding tool. It fits on the crank pulley and gives you about a 2 foot handle.

^^^ if not even worse Explaining to people why your custom hi-performance Subaru engine sounds like rocks in a blender = priceless

It sounds to me like you might need to add more refrigerant.
