  1. There doesn't seem to be much of a Subaru scene in Uk so a weber adaptor plate is gonna be a find. I think it would be better welded anyway, maybe less restrictive as you don't have big chokes tapering down into small chokes?
  2. hello, i'm drawing up on CAD my weber carb adaptor to fit my 32/36 DGAV 5A and there seems to be a clash between the bolt hole centres? i've looked at this; http://www.ausubaru.com/wiki/index.php?title=ENGINE:WEBER#Adaptor_Plates and http://img12.imageshack.us/i/img1444n.jpg/ and it seems my hitachi must be different dimensions? i'm in uk so i dunno if that makes a difference? when drawn up they certainly won't go together like the one on this. the bolt holes on these off the hitachi are well inside the weber bolt holes??? I was thinking of just getting the manifold off and welding/ milling it to suit my weber. would you suggest I do that instead? Confused. Cheers, Tom
  3. Got my carb, all looks well. It's jetted as follows, 36 side 160, 135, 55. 32 side 165, 140 and 50. That seems the wrong way round? Which are the jets at the bottom of the float bowl? The profile in the manifold is smaller than the carb, would it be worth taking it off and milling it to match?
  4. sweet, i just rang my escort man and he's got a "really nice one" for £50 so i'm going to have a look later.
  5. Throttle shafts being the shafts with the butterflies on? Or the little shaft on the linkage? Sorry if that's a dumb question, got a local specialist in mk1 and 2 escorts, he must have these carbs coming out his ears but he'll sell me junk if he can so I wanna know where to look exactly! Cheers for your help
  6. I can get a new one, jetted up as GD suggests, for about £180, just wondering if I should get that or try and scrounge a used one, what should I look out for or are they pretty trouble free?
  7. Think I'll definately get one they're not even too expensive brand new, and if I tell myself the economy will be better then I'd be stupid not to get one right?! Haha
  8. Cheers, if my angle is 12.5 though isn't 16* going to give me negative camber? Also, I don't want to individually unbolt all the subframe bolts to see what size they are, do you know if they're all 12mm? Thanks again, tom
  9. i've been thinking about the weber upgrade, what sort of performance/smoothness do you gain? my current setup is OK but there's a definate lull then surge when the second choke comes in
  10. Hi, I'm 6" lifting my 87 brat. I'm doing it by cutting some 6*2 stainless box section into 2" sections, bolting them in place and then bracing them when they're in position and everythings square, then making an extension plate for the diff rather than a new moustache bar. if anyone can answer any of the following i would be grateful! 1) can anyone see a fault with my method? 2) will i have to cut much out to fit my 31*11.5-15 Kumho M/T's? 3) are all the bolts that attach the subframes 12mm? 4) can i drill all the holes in the centre of the 2" sections or will they foul on anything more than an amount i can grind off safely? 5) i measured the angle that my strut tops tilt inwards at and it was 12.5 degrees? does that mean i make my tower extensions to that angle? Thanks, Tom
  11. cool man, how much delivered to uk? love the look of the 6" lifted white one on your site so i might be tempted to go that route. what size tyres are they on that one? many other mods necessary?

    cheers

  12. I will try my hardest to have plans to send to you this weekend, Sunday night at the latest. Im terribly sorry for the delay
