1. ah, cool! I already bought some hose, and I got a fuel line clamp like your talking about, that might fit. So I'll give that a try. Thanks
2. As expected, it is the source of my leak. Is there any easy way to fix this. I can't even tell if there is a clamp down there(if there is how would I even deal with it), because I can hardly reach or see under the intake manifold. Do I have to remove the intake manifold, or what?
3. I'm having the same problem, and I'm thinking its the intake manifold gaskets, which have 2,000 on them and have been re-checked for proper torque. Or maybee its that hose that goes from my thermostat housing to the intake manifold. I hate cooling problems.
4. Speaking of suspension, the guy from my other thread "2 rally RX's" has Bilstein coilovers on his RX. He got some place in Seattle to do it.
5. It's almost a shame to see that 67 cortina getting dirty. Its in such beautiful condition. I think that might be a saab your talking about.
6. the guy at the shop told me $250 to replace
7. I thought if maybee I put a bra on the car like tex, and then added some lights, then I could hide the rust. OK, most my rally photos are up, including some more of the RX http://community.webshots.com/user/riggidyboo go to doowop2005 enjoy!
8. I can only carry so many spare parts
9. From the DooWops rally this weekend: Me and Ron Sorem at service. Met him for the first time. Cool guy. Very nice rally prepared RX. Had to share now, but I will have more photos up later, from the rally. ---Todd
10. I planned this out in my head when I was at work before I did it the other day, and it took 20 min. take of the air boots or whatever, then unbolt the exhaust. the coolant lines are easier to deal with if you just disconnect the banjo bolts and not the hoses, but I clamped the hoses, so coolant doesn't spill out everywhere. But those can be a pain to put back on.
11. I look forward to those photos! I just got back from a rally, and have to get some photos developed as well.
12. Changing the disty is very easy, helps to have a timing light, just in case
13. I agree on the tps, since I just had the exact same problem, which was fixed by adjusting that( I also cleaned the throttle body out) It was a once and a while kind of problem, sometimes the car would putt along like it was going to die and then suddenly take off, or I would have to clutch/gas it again. I messed with the tps and the car runs awesome now. BTW this was too funny
14. I don't really notice any lag either, but then maybee its from the twe parts and the ported/polished turbo. the car is a blast to drive, keeps up with 2.5's just fine.
15. what about the front mount this guy has http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12639&highlight=FMIC
16. inside look at those fenders That would be so great if is 4X140
17. bump, I want to hear more about this, since I happen to have one of these sitting around. Anyone done any modifications to their pcv setup?
18. TWE exhaust into custom 2.5, resonator, and a flowmaster. Changed the pcv valve, and cleaned the hoses, and there was SO MUCH CRAP in them! yellowish sludge, and rusty junk, but I already have replaced half those hoses.
19. northwet, I think I might just go to the dealership and get a new pcv valve and clean out anything that might be in those lines. I thought I saw some blue smoke before, but not sure if it's doing now, the entire exhaust system is new
20. Okay found this post on Nasioc "I learned how the pcv/crank vent system and the valve cover breather system should be kept as seperate systems and that the worse case scenario when dealing with excessive crankcase pressure would prevent the oil from draining out of your turbo, causing lots of smoke as the oil would be forced to burn in the turbo." What do you guys think? Update: I pulled the turbo out(20 minutes, I'm really proud of that) cleaned and inspected it. There is some oil around the intake side, but prop shafts spin well. I think I was missing one of the washers around the oil banjo line, so I fixed that and torqued everything down properly. ---Still smoking have yet to figure out if its gunk that needs to be burnt off, But I'm guessing NO.
21. aren't you supposed to remove some purge line while adjusting that?
