  1. Would an exhaust leak between the engine and manifold cause or explain the burping sound?
  2. I just started a post about a similar issue.
  3. Ok, this problem has plagued me for years. The RX is not my primary driver, but when i do drive it, some times when it gets warmed up, and I am at a stop, trying to go. There will be no power and a muffled front end backfire/hiccup. I have to put the clutch in and rev up really high to power out of it. Maybe related, It could be idling fine, and the just drop 500rpm out of the blue. -Todd
  4. Thanks for those Whiteline part #'s. I need a new one for the mustache bar.

  6. I bet VHT dye would work great for fading black bumpers
  7. I had these bookmarked from SLI. I need to do this too on my 96 legacy http://www.sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=24294 http://personal.nbnet.nb.ca/apples/bulbreplacement.pdf
  8. Did you have an oil pressure gauge, or how was your oil pressure. Any cracks in your oil pickup tube? I spun a bearing on my Ver2 sti RA about a year and a half ago. I think it was probably due to different oil I used at the time or oil sloshing to one side of the pan under a hard corner, but could have just been age, The rod bolts are a weakpoint on the EJ20g's. I put an 11mm pump in during the rebuild. Now you got me worrying about that
  9. Under any hard cornering when it went out?

    88 RX

I assume the lids are shaped exactly the same so the spoiler should transfer over after drilling a couple holes

I also am going to need a new hatch soon. My trunk is nothing like that though. Check out this auto wrecking database for your lid. Prices are surprisingly low, so shipping to FL might not be out of the question. Listed as "lid" http://car-part.com/
  12. This is for EJ20G's, but maybe it will work for yours http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1192028
  13. No Trailer hitch. I just bought a multimeter today, so I guess I am going to have to buck up and finally figure out how to use one
  14. I deleted the hill holder from my 88 RX, so that is available if it will work in your car
  15. Thanks, I looked through a bunch of those threads. I guess my real concern is why do the tail lights not come on. I re-checked a bunch of connections and grounds, swapped some bulbs, no change going to look through some threads about tail lights...
  16. Having an issue with my 88 RX. Stop Lamp light is on, and I noticed that when I turn the lights on, the tail lights do not light up. Brake and turns light up just fine. All rear bulbs and sockets seem fine. Fuses look good. The little coil checker thing on the passenger tail had some corrosion on it, so I cleaned it up. Not super good with electrical diagnostics, so any help would be great I recently did a 5 lug conversion, so braking system has been changed, and also had the dash apart for a heater core, but if I remember correct the "stop lamp" light was on before -Todd
  17. Crazy, I don't remember hearing about the guy dying in Skagit. I did a heater core on the RX recently, and removed several mouse nests that had been in the car for years. I wore a good mask for that, and covered every vent hole i could with hardware cloth edit: just found the article http://www.komonews.com/news/archive/4109686.html
  18. its fine unless it actually extends into the coolant passage. If you can't get a fingernail inside the crack, it's ok
  19. bleed the master cylinder, bleed the calipers in proper order, tap on the calipers to free up any trapped bubbles
  20. They could probably benefit from a knowledgeable ea82t expert on their crew
  21. the first pic was at a different rally back in 04-06,my RX in front. I was just a spectator at oregon trail, but i sort of know the co-driver of the RX.
  22. here is the car as 00 at an older rally driven by its previous owner, and my car in front an interior shot from Oregon Trail
  23. I heard that it laid down some very competative stage times, not bad for a borrowed car, but that later caused them problems when the turbo hose popped off and they didn't have the tool kit in the car. Later there was a IAC wire loose, and a fuseable link overheated
  24. No, but you can check these sites: http://www.automotivetouchup.com/choosecolor/choosecolor.aspx?year=1987&make=Subaru&model=All%20Models http://www.paintscratch.com/touch_up_paint/Subaru/1987-Subaru-XT-Coupe.html
