  1. After posting I was reading around the site and it says to check for a clogged radiator check for cold spots. I did this and couldnt find any? Is the radiator the only thing that could cause this. I am a poor man,if it is clogged is there a way to unclogg it?
  2. My 1993 Subaru loyale is overheating but only when i am going over 70 MPH, it can handle stop and go traffic going up steep hills at 50 mph for 5 miles (parleys) temp is also fine when the car just sits and idles. Any ideas. on a side note unrelated hopefully, the outside temp is 95-100 degrees currently but the car still starts and idles at about 3000rpm until the motor is warm, i would usually expect this during the winter but not during the summer months, is there some type of choke system on this model that can go bad or needs to be adjusted?
  3. I aligned the crank to the three valve marks, not ignition timing as stated, but the it says to put both cams up matched to the notched mark in the timing cover case, that is why i was asking about turning the motor 360 degrees after installing the first belt The car was running fine when the first belt broke.
  4. Okay, I took both covers back off, the crank turns pretty easily with a breaker bar on it, the oil pump, idler pulley, and tensioner all spin freely, and the distributor gears are fine. No Idea why the new belt broke... But I have put another new belt on and can turn the crank and both belts work great, but the car still will not start. I was looking at the Haynes Repair Manual and it says after you install the driver side belt to rotate the engine one full revolution or 360 degrees then align the valve marks and install the passenger side belt, is this necessary/required, if so what does it do? It is the only thing I hadn’t done previously.
  5. I havent checked but if the distributor gears were stripped could it cause the belt to break?
  6. What is the accronym EA82? No i did not turn the crank.
  7. My 1993 Subaru loyale had a no spark issue , i was able to find that the drivers side timing belt had broke. I replaced both timing belts and went to start it and the new belt broke. Is my engine toast. what would cause this new belt to break, is there something else i can fix?
