  1. Switches I can find, well, except that elusive dptt one. I like your idea for the delay, but right now, I just want a wiper for the pouring rain. That coupe window is pretty good at catching water.
  2. So, I'm getting sick of "fixing" my rear wiper switch, so I'm planning on just replacing it. I wanted to just use a double pole triple throw switch, but the closest ones I can find (one for an amp, one 4ptt), are expensive. So, I was thinking about using a five-post relay so that I can get the park circuit to work, without needing a separate switch for the washer. I'll attach a sketch of a wiring diagram (sorry for my poor drawing skills) of what I'm thinking. What do you guys think?
  3. Fairtax4me mentioned the disty on the engine he was working on, have you double-checked the coil-packs to make sure both the primary and secondary sides are hooked up right? (I know you probably have, but sometimes you miss something in frustration, so I have to ask) As for the starting fluid, it's pretty cheap, about the same price as other automotive aerosols (carb cleaner, brake cleaner, wd-40, ect.) Wal-Mart sells it. You might be able to use Carb Cleaner as a sub, but I know the starting fluid burns better, as that's its main purpose.
  4. Hey Scott, any status on mine? Has the check showed up yet? Order #130
  5. Actually, pretty sure it's torque is around 3k, but it's peak HP is much higher, between 4k & 5k if I remember right. Little different depending on fuel delivery, though. (Well, that's it's rating anyway.)
  6. Sorry, been having heart problems lately, which has been messing with my schedule. Check's in the mail. Order #130
  7. I can't find my original email with the address, could you post it here please?
  8. Well, for future, coolant burns white, oil burns blue (smoke, not flame). Is it under a load (accel, hill), cruise, deceleration, something else? It probably is due to you engine not fully sealing until it gets warm, and sucking some oil past the rings. Or, it could be blowing it through your pcv system.
  9. SJR's converted hubs are for 6-lug, the bolt pattern will fit Toyota, Nissan, most Chevy, and a few others. It looks like he does sell a VW5 adapter, though. I'd recommend checking out his site for more info. http://www.sjrlift.com
  10. Something you might consider, that I saw GM use, is for low, the fans are run in series, for high, they are run parallel. Something I'm thinking about.
  11. Haha, that's not even on the test in Colorado Springs any more.
  12. #130 Lol, shortest order number I've had from an online purchase.
  13. Test it. Pull the connector off, see what the gauge does (I assume you mean the one with one wire). Then, ground that wire, see what it does. one of them should be bottom of the gauge, one should be top, but I can't remember which at the moment. Also, check the connection, just to make sure it looks ok. If the gauge works with the test above, but not on the sensor, you have to ohm the sensor. I'd have to look up the specs, but unfortunately for you, you engine will need to be warm when you check it.
  14. Got it fixed for now, until I can get the right bolt. The pitch is 1.25, dia 12mm, as numbchux suggested. The one I found was about 1/8th of an inch shorter, but it'll work for now. Grade 11, so it should hold for the time being. To get it to the school, I used a tie-down (non ratcheting, unfortunately) wraapped around the caliper and knuckle. Held it for light braking, just had to use engine braking as much as possible. Definaately getting a ratcheting tie-down to keep i n case of emergency.
  15. I was driving down the highway when I heard a pop, the when I went to brake, there was a terrible vibration. Turns out, it was the left front caliper hitting the wheel. The lower mounting bolt came off. Anyone know what size it is? It's kinda urgent.
  16. Done. Let me know when to send the money. Also, you gonna send out a confirmation on the amount to send? $129.50 + shipping is what I'm coming up with for an adapter plate.
  17. High altitude has lower octane. Since the air is thinner, compression pressures go down. So, octane is a bit lower, and gas is a bit cheaper than most places.
  18. I run 85. I tried mid-grade once, but I got worse mileage, and no real performance difference. But, my engine isn't exactly a shining example either.
  19. Awesome, thanks Scott. Do you use a 12" fans? Also, the fans are $30 ea, not $25, my mistake.
  20. So, I know I'll have to take out my condenser (much to my dismay), and I know I'll need "slim" or "thin" fans, but how thin is thin? Most of the ones I've been finding are 2.5" at the motor. Also, how big should I get? The ones I've been looking at are $25 each for 12" or 9", IIRC. Other info: My car, '87 GL Coupe, currently EA825 Carb w/4wd (d/r now, was a 3at w/ push-button originally). Engine is an '94 EJ22 out of a Legacy, FWD, MT.
  21. I'm ready whenever you are, sooner the better. Email: jmhollinrake@wwdb.org ~Josh H
  22. Ah, then I have seen (and have) a red one, although mine is faded to more of a brown. As far as a useful answer to your question, I got nothin'.
