  1. Been doing some checking online and the part (#34160AC090) is listing for over $300. That seems absolutely ludicrous! That can't be what people are paying for 2 little U-joints. Is there any other solution out there? Mike
  2. I have a 96 OBW with the notorious steering clunk. Other than getting the correct part, is there any aspect of replacing the U-joints I should be aware of, such as phasing them properly, etc? It looks like a fairly straight forward job. Can the U-joints be lubed or are they a lifetime install and forget until they make noise again item? Thanks for any info. Mike
  3. Radiator is definitely spewing coolant. I ordered one from http://www.radiator.com last night and got it this afternoon for the lowest price I was able to obtain in my search. It appears to be the right part. I'll be installing it Friday. Thanks again to all who responded to my question.
  4. Thanks very much folks. I think I have enough info to make an informed purchase.
  5. I need to order a radiator for my 96 Legacy outback. Auto Zone has 2 part numbers. One has a sensor fitting, one does not. The one that does not is $100 cheaper than the one that does. Do I need the sensor fitting? Is it for the sensor that tells the fan when to engage? I checked 1stSubaruParts.com and they don't list 2 part numbers for this car. Any help is much appreciated.
  6. I just bought a 98 Forester S with 195K as an alternate "as needed" vehicle. I have had 2 other Subarus which were great cars. I have done a search on this board for typical problems associated with the 2.5L engine and found some good info, but I wonder if there is anything else besides head gaskets I should be aware of. The car was actually well-maintained, but does need front end work (not sure what as yet) as the left front tire is worn significantly differently than the right. Thanks for any help you all can give me. Mike
