  1. CODY!!!

    hit me up, bro....

    how was kandahar?

    mathew84u@yahoo.com

  2. hey mister Mr.

im trying to do roughly the same thing as you did. and i suppose you have taken at least a passing interest in my efforts, since you helpfully gave me some input. i have the ej18 mechanically in. bolted to clutch bolted to xmember etc... i have the lift mostly in. i was womdering, if you might be willing to hep me out for some cash, or beer and pizza, or i dunno, i might have some garage toys you could use... you are fairly close to me, geographically. and you are VERY close, in build design. same engine, same body, etc... i just have the 4spd, but i plan to get a 5spd pretty soon.

    my number is 206-914-1246

  3. you are M.I.A.!!!!

i really am aching for that sweeeet bumper, dude....

    coooooome ooooon!!!!!! lol........

  4. hey, whats up? are we still on for that rear tube bumper for my 83 brat?

  5. i read that you did that front bumper yourself?

would you ever consider building another for someone?

  6. hey mark..... sucks about the spfi pistons. those suckers are hard to find.

but anyhow, is that ej-ea adapter price firm? or would you consider 75 cash, and pickup by myself to avoid shipping costs?

or possibly trade you some labor, if you need anything done around the house/garage?

    yardwork, painting, anything like that?

  7. hey jerry. thanks for the input on the suberdave ej18. i went with it. was wondering what you did about exhaust in your brat. mr. brat gave some advice, but i like a few opinions to wrap my mind around a project.

  8. hey mark!! still have those spfi pistons?

  9. is 1/4" STRONG enough? the seperate plates wont shift or anything?

can you do 60 cash on the plates? i dont suppose you are ever in king or pierce county, huh?

  10. you mentioned in a past thread maybe being able to get more springs with the extra inch height?

would love to buy some. id pay double whatever you get em for. on the condition you explain em to me.

  11. still no pics of the tubestyle rear bumper? i know how car wrecks freeze frame all your projects for months, believe me, my spine was snapped in may-2007. but if you DO get a chance, i would love to see a couple pics of what they would look like? i got an 83 brat.

trublue is one of my best friends. great guy. and he had nothing but great things to say about your work quality. good enough for me.

  12. hey whered you get those brat bumpers? i weld, well duh, but i dont have all the tools to make some like that. HTI makes great ones, nothing wrong with em, just not my style. hti's are like heavy crawler bumpers. yours make me think more of rallyX.

any idea where i could get one like your back bumper? any help is mucho appreciado, senor

  13. hey buddy. hope all is well. glad you got back from east in one piece.

  14. what do you think of me getting a ej18 in my brat, versus rebuilding and upgrading the ea81 or just getting the ej22 instead of the ej18?

  15. today would work but its gettin kinda late. i have decent lighting in my garage but its occupied. so i planned to just use the gravel driveway. but if you can be here by 4:15??

i know thats a long shot , but yea. anyhow, i am free tomorrow also.

    206-914-1246

  16. yea man. you HAVE my cell number. and NO im not over the flu. its fkn bad. but

nuthin to stop me from doing ten minutes of Mig bead. give a call.....

i was WONDERING whathappened. you were supposed to be calling me on thursday after 3pm.

  17. i can do that job in like ten minutes, if you dont count pulling tools out and putting tools away. i will do it for free, if YOU do the prep work. just clean off all paint anywhere you want the weld bead. at least 1/2". half inch.

    any experience with ea81s?

my phone is dead right now. battery. 206-914-1246

  18. yea, im around tomorrow.

just been working on my ea81. got it on my living room floor on a scrap of carpet. scrubbing the grease off and getting rady for new pistons, camshaft, gaskets and some mild port smoothing.

  19. i am a welder. i can do pretty good mig in my garage.

let me know if u want sum work done. i work out of my own garage in maple valley,

and i wont charge you your kidneys and virgin daughter.

  20. just exactly like the original factory subaru brat LOW rollbar. fit really tight and close into the lines of the cab. how much would you want, for the work?

  21. the exhaust, just 16g 1 7/8"

the rollbar, i guess like 1 3/4" and probably about 14g?? i guess i would just trust it all to YOUR judgement. i want my rollbar to be FUNCTIONAL. but not huge diameter, cuz i sleep in the back of my brat sometimes, and space is already limited. inch and a half seems okay.

  22. hey, you mentioned in a post that you can do mandrel bending?? if i can do all the mig welding myself, what would you charge me to fab up a nice low roll-bar for my brat? and finish off my exhaust? i have the exhaust the shape and location and angles i want, so u could just copy mine. i just want it to be mandrel bent. please let me know if u can make it happen! thank you!!

  23. i would like a pair of sliders for my 82 brat.

they dont need to be SUPER hardcore. i just like to play around sometimes,

nothing too extreme. my concern is the unibody design of brats.

is a unibody really storng enough to be a foundation for sliders?

a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. and bolting or welding

12 gauge pipe onto a 20 gauge rocker panel, its just a bit pointless......

please let me know. THANK YOU

  24. are you selling that canopy, or what? you said you would post pics, but your post has 3 responses, and yet..... nothing.......

  25. i saw a post where you did some headwork for a guy. do you do that for anyone with cash? or was that a close friend?

i am not really rich, but i would like to get my ea81 a little cleaned up. mild port work, a deck shave, maybe some bowl-cleanup and i dont know if you know how to even out an exhaust manifold. im not sure what he actually DOES to them, but a guy named greg gessler is famous for getting the stock iron manifolds on buick 455s to run more evenly and smoothly.

if you are willing to work on my heads, please let me know what you would charge for the work. thank you ahead of time!!
