  1. Well the bright side is the 4+ feet of snow is going away, so yeah, soupy mess.
  2. Like TomRhere, it seems like you are losing the power from distributor on center dist. lead. Check your spark plug wires. Are they bad?
  3. I'm going to do some research, but,,,how hard would it be to make a new hub that is 5 lug that just bolts on? Take off the old 4 lug hub itself and then make a 5 lug that just bolts on in place? You guys that have had some of the adapters, please comment on durability or problems you may have encountered plus some have mentioned that we need the extra spacing of the rim? Is that true? if so maybe we can make the hub with the extra spacing. ????? Comments
  4. +1, Yep, it is looking like time for a rebuild. Not that hard to do either.
  5. If you don't have any milkshake look on the dipstick and any leaking, or smoking issues, it doesn't seem like the head gaskets. I would check the thermostat. It sounds like it is stuck closed not allowing coolant to flow or you have a blockage in your radiator.
  6. Cool. Welcome to the site. We all love pics so don't be shy. If you have any questions, be sure to ask. The guys here have a wealth of experience and advice.
  7. Sure you can rebuild it. Don't let anyone say otherwise. It just takes some homework.
  8. Hey welcome to the site. Thx for your service and in all honestly, get to work on the fun stuff. I almost cried when you said a totalled Brat. I have one and with a 2.2T, lifted and lots of mods. Good to have another one who loves what we do.
  9. The best way for you to learn is to do it. All it takes is to see how it is attached, take it off and put the new one on. Most of the new cars are plastic, so it is just a matter of removing the damaged piece and attach the new one that you order online. Saves you a butt load of money and you feel better because you learn something.
  10. If you were thinking of 4 wheelie more, it might be better to do an air locker, so you can use it when you need it, and still be able to drive it normally when you need to. Just a thought.
  11. Okay, I may be asking a dumb question here; the guy quoted a 92 Brumby? Did they make the Brat after 1987 state side????
  12. Reseal the threads. If it stills leaks, check to see if there is a crack in the pcv.
  13. Well I am going to get this going. I can't believe with all the Subaru nuts on here that I couldn't sell something that we all want. So stay tuned people, we will have some Subaru adapters for the older awesome cars that made Subaru Subaru.
  14. Hey Bratman, did you every get a pair from the previous guy? I saw you were on the this. Did it not happen?
  15. Hey guys, So I was reading of the guy here who was making the wheel adapters but the company relocated and he lost access to the mill and lathe. Well, being that it is getting harder and harder to find all the parts and cars that we need to make our cars 5 lug, I have been thinking. I have a friend you is a genius and by the way has his own mill. So I asked about the wheel adapters and he was making the years ago for jeeps when he was into that. He said it was really easy. And said he would make me some, with me wanting to learn how to run the mill myself, he would teach me. I was wondering, if things go well and I can make more, would any of you guys be interested in getting some for our Subies? Chime in and let me know. I know I will be probably making two full sets to start off, so let me know.
  16. Check the rear sticker on the diff and then find your serial number on the trans., usuallly up be the bellhousing and run that on the computer and make sure the ratios match.
  17. Yep, double check everything. It seems something didn't get hooked back up or hooked back up wrong. Double check
  18. Probably anything with that 2.5. Basically you just use the block and transfer everything over. My only concern would be things not bolting on the engine, brackets and what not that the 99 may not have had that the new does but you can always make brackets and things. So it shouldn't be that be of a deal. Like I said, 2.5 to 2.5 to be pretty easy.
  19. If you hear "clicks", check your connections. Like you said, starter might be garbage. It wouldn't be the first time someone had purchased a "new" starter, reman'd, and some short time later, the starter is acting up. Also, when the car is running, take the volt meter across the battery and check your alternator while you are at it. It should be 13.5v or above.
  20. Love your car. I like the year of that design. That is weird you have an 1800. Still good, but I had a friend you had that car with the 2.5. I guess you could always upgrade to a 2.2 when she needs it. Another great motor. Actually, the 1800 may be the same block that just needs to be bored up. Check into that.
  21. If you have a new fuel filter and no new response, I'd would be checking your fuel pump. Maybe she is getting weak.
