U know Numbchux, it would be really useful to actually take the time and revise the write up with things that we have learned and that works better. Just my 2 cents.

So I am putting the interior center console pieces in the 85 Brat and with the new Sti 5 speed, the shift is further back, or closer to you, and a quick shift. Does any have any pics of what they did for console ideas?

I was going to go check it out, we are in "Break-Up", with all the melt off, roads are crazy, better have 4wd in some parts. Plus the guy was sick so I was waiting for him to get better and roads. He said it was going anywhere. I am getting more and more excited to go get it. I will keep you posted.

So it has been sitting for 20 years and the guy said he didn't have any spark, and he tried 4 coils. I am thinking it is the fuse box.

Nice job. A must to keep the Brats on the road and looking awesome. -
Welcome to the Brat family of nuts about Brats

So I have the 85 Brat, in the instrument cluster on the back there is two plugs coming off the top. One is the VSS, yellow and black, What is the other one? Light Blue and white wires?

Hey guys, I have a 2.2T in my Brat. It has the stock plastic expansion tank on the engine. I had the stock Brat radiator modified for the coolant hoses for the Ej motor. I have the small coolant line coming off the drivers side of the engine that originally went into the white overflow tank, which I don't have any room for. Can I just take that coolant line and connect it right to the Brat radiator cap overflow nipple? Or do I need that overflow tank? The engine came out of an auto tranny, I am not sure what the manual versions had. Does anyone have a pic or manual diagram? I was thinking, if I just fill the Brat radiator to its normal tab level inside the radiator and then connect the line from the motor to the cap nipple, would that be okay?

So my choices are, hook up to a mechanical oil pressure gauge, or just go with an idiot light of some kind, or aftermarket electric oil pressure gauge? Oh, thx czy for the links.

Need to install mufflers in Subaru Impreza
Naked Buell replied to erictyson's topic in Turbo Engine Tech ('91 and newer)
Well I had a Wrx 02, it had the Magnaflow muffler, it sounded awesome. I had people asking if I had a v8 in her. It has a nice rumble and even more so when higher rpms. It also helps the engine breathe better I thought, being a turbo. The subaru motors have a distinct sound. I could be blind and know when I subie is close by. -
It is better to do an aftermarket electric gauge?

So what are some of you guys doing for the oil pressure gauge in the Brat? Ej just had the idiot light. How are you guys plumbing that in?

Radiator overflow tank for Brat 2.2T
Naked Buell replied to Naked Buell's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
Cool. I will tee off at the tank on the 2.2T motor and tie in to the radiator overflow line. If I have the stock Brat radiator cap what pressure should I get? And what pressure cap on the tank on the motor? I figured I should have a new one too. -
Radiator overflow tank for Brat 2.2T
Naked Buell replied to Naked Buell's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
Now r u talking about the tank on the motor? I have the lame plastic one that came with the 2.2T stock. I am asking, if I have the one on the motor, do I need another one to catch from radiator cap to overflow? Or do I just cap it? It is the stock Brat radiator metal. -
Hey guys, I have the 2.2T in the Brat, can I use any overflow tank that I can fit in there? I have the one tank on the engine, and I have the line off the radiator cap, to go to an overflow, like in the EA82. Any thoughts and advice? Thanks

Hey guys. So I have a friend that tells me he has an old brat that has been sitting out in his field for some time and wanted to know if I wanted it. He says it has two extra motors in the back as well. Hood has been closed and can't open due to the cable being broken. Any advice about snagging this. I have an 85 Brat that I have been working on for some time but I always seem to find more subies. Like I said, any advice?

I did something different. One guy on there, had the bright yellow wagon down in south america somewhere, showed how you could use 4 runner struts and springs. It did raise the rear slightly, 2 inches higher than the front, which I like the look on the Rx, but I feel they are too stiff. If I put 4 people in her, I am sure she would ride nice. But one person, she feels like a rally car. I put XT struts in the front.

Call out to XT6 owners! Wiring question
Naked Buell replied to jdmleggy97's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I checked my manuals and all is says is "to electronic power steering system". Like you said, it is probably just a signal wire.
