Hey Nick, I am heading down to the Post Office with your Brakes for your Brat. They will be in the mail today. Thanks again and I am glad you could use them. Looking at your Gen 1 Brat makes me miss mine. Keep Subie-en.
So I have a question. So lets say I find a complete donor car, 2000 or newer with a 2.5. So I put in the engine, tranny, rearend and driveline in to fit. Do I have to make custom axles to fit my 85 Brat going from stock axle to the new tranny? :-\
I went to the wrecking yard today but they are closed Sun and Mon so tomorrow I will snag the 5 lug hubs. Oh and by the way, there was two XT's there. One was 4wd and the other 2wd. I am grabbing the 4wd ones.
So if it was you, would you convert the Brat to 6 lug or 5 lug? I plan on putting a ej in the Brat with the ej tranny sooner or later. I will go today and see if the hubs are still there. Is the 2wd Xt parts the same as far as the front stuff? I know the rears are different because of not having an axle go through it but is the front the same?
My wife has a 2000 GT Legacy and the windshield wipers are so loud it would drive you crazy. It is as if they are bottoming out in both directions. Has anybody ran into the same thing and if so, what can I do to fix this nuisance?
Well I am trying to round up the hubs so I can do the 6 lug conversion. I have an extra set of front hubs, counting the hubs on my Brat now. But while at the wrecking yard there was an XT6 with rear disc brakes so I grabbed everything except the rear hubs because they were 5 lug. I didn't want to have 5 in the rear and 6 in the front. So being that you do hubs, which is easier to convert; 5 or 6?
So the other day I was searching through and found someone here that is selling hubs already drilled. You just let him know what specs and after payment sends you the hubs. But I can't seem to find him now. Does anybody know what I am talking about and if so please direct. Thanks Sub Bros
If I went with a early 90's 5 speed from an AWD subie I wouldn't be four wheel drive unless I installed the sensors at each wheel for the computer to monitor, right?
Okay guys. I have a 85 Brat and I am wanting to do an engine upgrade. I hear a lot about the adapter plate and see pics here and there. I am pretty mechanical so I know I can make it myself if I could just get steered in the right direction on how to make it. Now if I want to put in a Wrx 2.0 Turbo, am I going to have to upgrade to the Wrx tranny or will the stock 4 speed handle the Hp and torque? Any info will help. Thanks guys.
Hi everyone. I am new to the forum and really enjoy all the info that is passed around. I have a 85 Brat that I am in the process of lifting. My question is, Can you put a 2.2 engine into the Brat? Do I need the tranny with the whole rearend as well?
My goal is to put a 2.2 or 2.5 (some think bad choice due to head gasket) whole set up into the Brat. Basically those cars with the Brat body.
Can it be done in a reasonable manner? Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks
