  1. Thanks for the response. Forgive my lack of understanding of your set-up. How does it operate as AWD with the RX center Diff? I wouldn't be doing true hard-core 4-wheeling, just occaissional hunting on sketchy logging roads, so I doubt I'd need higher than the subi ratio (not 3.9:1?). Indeed, sometimes I think I should just stick in the full AWD and call it good. I want to add the EJ system knuckles all around for discs and 5 lugs anyway and then I'd just need to mess with the axles. I live in snow country where AWD really shines. Additionally I worry about all that EJ torque feeding into the EA Diffs. I'm not sure where I'll score an EJ D/R here either. I'm surprised you were unsatisfied with the gear ratio with all that EJ torque. It wasn't getting the job done?

  2. Hi,

I'm enamored of your Tri-hybrid EJ Brat conversion which, as I understand it, gives selectable AWD/4WD w/ low range, using FT4WD EJ (AWD), EJ D/R and EA 5sp. PT4WD trannies. I'm in the US and so might struggle to find and EJ D/R.

I'd love to see the rest of the write-up on the conversion.

I've heard of a EA FT4WD (AWD); is it possible to do the same sort of thing with a RX style EA D/R, EA FT4WD, and 1.39 Brat EA 5sp?

  3. Hi,

I'm enamored of Phizinza's Tri-hybrid EJ Brat conversion which, as I understand it, gives selectable AWD/4WD w/ low range: http://offroadingsubarus.com/trihybrid_gearbox.html He uses FT4WD EJ (AWD), EJ D/R and EA 5sp.PT4WD trannies.

Am I going to be able to source an EJ D/R in the States?

Phizinza uses a Brat EA 5sp., also hard to find here, will your 5sp into 4 sp. kit work here?

I've heard of a EA FT4WD (AWD); is it possible to do the same sort of thing with a RX style EA D/R, EAFT4WD, and 1.39 Brat EA 5sp (with adapter plate for EJ engine)?

What all is included in one of your 4>5sp kits? Cost?

    Thanks,

    Mike
