  1. I am sure it needs to be replaced, still not convinced that it isn't the clutch
  2. 1990 legacy 360k 2.2 5 speed, clutch replace 120k ago. I noticed that I have to shift up a lot sooner or else the car bogs down (lose of power). Those of you that own a manual probably know what i am talking about, you get the hard chug chug which tells you to shift up. This happens in 2-5 gears. Could it be the clutch or am I having a fuel sending problem. I hope this makes sense Brian
  3. :banghead::banghead::banghead: I have owned the same voltmeter since 84...and now it has gone missing. I used it within the last couple months.....:banghead::banghead:
  4. So I am driving home in my 1990 legacy wagon, 2.2 l and the battery light, ebrake light and tail stop light all come on....is this an alternator issue????
  5. I had the same issue, same year and model, the fluid in the radiator was extremely low, filled it up, burped it and haven't had an issue since:headbang:
  6. That is the problem, there should be a little rubber grommet there, I just stuck a small bolt and nut and voila, cruise control worked:)
  7. oh I should say it was the actuator (the part being held by the three nuts) that was broken on mine.
  8. i have done it on a 90 legacy...you have to remove the wiper...should be a screw under the cap (which by the way could be loose). Then you will need to remove the cowl. There are 3 nuts that hold the actuator. The actuator arm that runs from the motor to the wiper is connected to the actuator via a ball joint that just pops off...if you have big hands like me it is not easy to reach but it can be done. I ended up finding the actuator at the bone yard. hope this helps a little.
  9. So if I swap the relays and the main fan still doesn't come on, is there a temp switch I should check or should I just replace the fan at this point?
  10. 90 leg. 2.2 Are the cooling fan relays the two relays closest to the firewall in the relay box? The owners manual shows the fuses but not the relays. If they are the fan relays, which is which?
  11. I am having an issue with the drivers side fan, the owners manual shows the fuse box under the dash board but doesnt tell me anything about the relays under the hood (90 leg 2.2). So are the two relays closest to the firewall in the relay/fuse box the fan relays?
  12. Interesting....it coincided with the clutch so I figured it had something to do with it. now I know
  13. I was walking down the road the other day when a wrx was at a stop light. He/she took off quite rapidly and as they engaged the clutch you could hear a phhhhhhssssssssssssssst sound...like the clutch was air pressure...has anyone heard/seen this? What kind of clutch was he/she running? More curious than anything else. B
  14. 90 legacy, 2.2l so there are two cooling fans, drivers side and passenger side. My understanding is the passenger side runs when the AC is on. So are the two fans interchangeable? It appears the drivers side fan is not working. Side note, the AC is disconnected. B
  15. Phhhhhhhhhhtttttttt....335k and I haven't done a thing to my 90 legacy in the last 80k. I have no idea what was done before I owned it (got it free, it was sitting in a coworkers yard for 3 years without being started). So put the money into it...it will last another 200k
  16. 90 sub legacy 2.2 5spd- I noticed that only one (passenger side) radiator fans turns on. Are they both supposed to come on at the same time? If so, do they have individual relays? Where do I start looking?
