1990 legacy 360k 2.2 5 speed, clutch replace 120k ago. I noticed that I have to shift up a lot sooner or else the car bogs down (lose of power). Those of you that own a manual probably know what i am talking about, you get the hard chug chug which tells you to shift up. This happens in 2-5 gears. Could it be the clutch or am I having a fuel sending problem. I hope this makes sense Brian

i have done it on a 90 legacy...you have to remove the wiper...should be a screw under the cap (which by the way could be loose). Then you will need to remove the cowl. There are 3 nuts that hold the actuator. The actuator arm that runs from the motor to the wiper is connected to the actuator via a ball joint that just pops off...if you have big hands like me it is not easy to reach but it can be done. I ended up finding the actuator at the bone yard. hope this helps a little.

Fan relay

So if I swap the relays and the main fan still doesn't come on, is there a temp switch I should check or should I just replace the fan at this point? -

Interesting....it coincided with the clutch so I figured it had something to do with it. now I know -
I was walking down the road the other day when a wrx was at a stop light. He/she took off quite rapidly and as they engaged the clutch you could hear a phhhhhhssssssssssssssst sound...like the clutch was air pressure...has anyone heard/seen this? What kind of clutch was he/she running? More curious than anything else. B
