  1. I had a closer listen on the drive home tonight and I think it is better described as a rattle than a vibration as I can not feel it either through the steering wheel or pedal etc but more like a loose bolt in the engine bay area. Strange thing is if I take my foot of pedal it goes away instantly and comes back just as fast when I press down again. Will see as the wife has been driving it lately so I only noticed it last night. Thanks for the reply's so far they are giving me ideas on what to look for and check.
  2. Not in neutral so how serious is something like this? How soon should I get it looked at? can I wait for next service?
  3. OK thanks, I have only done it once to try and replicate. I will have them take a look at it's next service.
  4. So I need a little help with a vibration. With my foot on the brake and in gear and reving to around 2500rpm I get a vibration, this vibration also happens while driving at around 35-40mph and I guess while the engine is underload. As soon as I take foot of accelerator it stops so any suggestions on wear to look? 2008 outback 2.5 auto.
  5. I ended up going with a new key direct from the dealer as I tried a few places and it seemed like it was in the "too hard basket".
  6. No pics yet but it is a 2008 limited 38000 miles, Colorado and was $21000. One question is it normal for it to kick down a gear a lot for hills? It does not seem bad just I have never had a auto in a 4cyl so less torque I guess.
  7. Well we went ahead and got a 2008 2.5 limited. We are very happy with the wagon and look forward to many weekends in the mountains.
  8. Thanks guys I have made contact with the dealer and they want $105 for the programing so I am trying to see if I can get some sort of price break to get it done.
  9. Hi So here is my situation, just picked up a 2008 outback and it only has one key, what is the cheapest way to get a second key? Thanks Jason
  10. OK well I guess I should look at post 2005's. Is the auto the same box 2000-2004? What changed for 2005 if anything?
  11. So I am revisting this as I have still yet to buy a car as have had a wedding to plan, now I am ready but just wanted to check what models/years to steer clear of or to look out for. Also how well do the pre 2005 auto's downshift? Same as the post 2005 or not?
  12. I am curious on people opinion on which is better for snow/ice driving manual or automatic (pre 2005 or post 2005). As this will be our head to the mountain car so it is a big factor in the purchase.
  13. I am after a auto I think ( it is for driving up to the ski fields that I am unsure auto or standard). A wagon for sure, along with heated seats and leather if that is the only way to get heated seats. I am open to either the 4 or the 6 ( are the 4's a 2.5 litre?) I have looked and I think because I am in Colorado the price of Subaru's is inflated as 2005 seem like they are around 15K. Thanks
