gl10s came w disc brakes. the 85 turbo 3at car ive worked on a few times, did not. I believe this was a "Turbo Traction" model.

youve got room, since you have a manual trans. just run a trans cooler from an AT lego and adapt. gains? we shall see

if its running its not your camshaft
-
its an afternoon job to replace the camshaft and tower. go ahead and pop the cover off yourself. the engine had been running worse and worse for a few days after flawless since id gotten it.....so i gave it 8k for a few seconds and it stopped running after the next shift into second gear, having snapped the belt from momentary seizure.

this reminds me. i have an AUDM import ea82 in my 86 wagon and i shredded ( severely applecored) the disty drive gear on the camshaft. i set, and reset the timing till 11pm on the side of the road that night, believing i was just too stupid to do it right that day. I gave up and had it towed the next morning. pulled the valve cover off and saw the carnage. weirdly enough the actual disty gear is 100% damage free.ss we ended up putting in a new cam, cam case, and o-ring (dealer only on this one)

358 miles since re-rebuilding carb yesterday morning. lost the ball bearing but salvaged one from a gen 3 wiper switch. had to change rear filter again 100 miles ago, robbed the starter from my loyale, which is still on blocks. Had a wonderful 5th anniversary with my wife before our second child arrives in april. -

there was excessive debris restricting flow to the bowl. all is well now. runs better than ive heard it do yet. glad to have it on the road and happy. Tomorrow we go to longbeach. -
so....after blowing out gas lines and general research/dinkin around i found a problem.....backwards fuel tank filter. facepalm. tuned the carb, adjusted timing. purrs like a kitten now and even went up the block a couple times. still has a little starving symptoms under heavy acceleration. for now i will attribute this to the fuel filter i probably ruined. opinions? i did have a check engine light off and on when i brought it home...i hope my o2 sensor doesnt need replacing

So if you havent seen my members ride thread youll be delighted to read this. I apologize for the redundancy but I dont wanna clutter that thread unnecessarily, and would like to reach the rest of you folks. Car drove to where i bought it and sat for two years. Im having an issue where im starving for fuel even though both filters remain full and clean. I can hear the fuel pump working away. Car will start, and run. then if gas is applied or a load put on, it bucks, surges, and dies in short order. car has an o2 sensor so that would mean I have the illustrious feedback hitatchi right? confirmed vac advance, spark are both good. advice?

1.8 ej. scrap / core or..........
Subruise replied to apintonut's topic in NA Fuel Injection Engine Tech
block would be less prone to warpage due to more material being there than an ej22. secondly it would drop the compression, not raise it. keep it in any case, its hard to overheat those -

Can my 93 Loyale EA82 have died?
Subruise replied to myhilo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
soak with pb blaster for a day or so before battling the rust. pull y pipe to get at the motor mounts. youll need to lift the motor to get the pan past the pickup tube. oreilleys and rockauto are both good sources of waterpumps however ebay and amazon usually have good deals on timing belt kits and wps. youll want a water pump with a cast impeller and not a stamped one. when you go to put the y pipe back on dont use an impact, youll strip the threads right out of the head. good luck, RV -

look for metal in the oil when you drain it, if not do the tbelts and drive it. -

couple of questions since i was unable to do anything but move the hatch 180* today. Are all 4speed trans mounts the same? like dr vs sr? And also: can you run an ea81 without carb base gaskets on either side of the phenolic spacer? the ones i had were for a ea82 so theres RTV on there at the moment. checks with ether reveal a good seal but for how long?
