  1. allied armorment 15" 4x140 wheels. out of production as far as i know
  2. disty is good Brian. has new plugs wires cap and rotor.
  3. also, are all 4 speed trans mounts the same? or do they differ from single range to dual?
  4. Thank you Ferox total fuel starve. it is still buckin, surging, and dying even after installing an NOS genuine carb top kit. brand new accel pump included. isnt that a rebuild? (not if it wasnt thoroughly cleaned i guess). that said, i was at work at the time and i dont think my buddy blew out the e tubes. after two years of ethanol gas sitting in it whats the likelyhood im droppin gas tanks soon>
  5. nice build so far, mitsubishi wheels? i had some and the offset was near stock, loved it. looks like youre gonna need some skidplate action soon
  6. On to the fun bits, and questions to be dealt with. Car sat 2 years after being purchased from origional owner and driven from tacoma to south of bonney lake......w the handbrake. I show up, we do rear wheel cylinders. We have brakes now =). We get it running long enough to discover the t-stat is not only aftermarket...its stuck shut. fail safe my a$$. No problem....Sunday yields fuel filter swap and buttoning down of things tampered with during the little giant's slumber. The big moment: I drive it home for the 30 minute drive and the bucking/crap out and die issue is subdued for the most part. plenty of power coming from a pretty shiny ea81. MK, so it ran great on last nights beer run and warm up this am. needless to say, it didnt get me to seattle. the wifes 86 gen3 stepped up. It idles all day, will rev to the moon....until its under an actual load. So far we have replaced the carb top with an NOS kit. Swapped out the bottom for one that has the roll pin knocked out from my old brat (ran awesome when pulled). changed fuel filters (they still look great after the whole 30 miles on em or so). and about 30 bucks in premium techron. clogged pickup screen? varnish in fuel lines? rusty shaz from ethanol? these are all things ive read about today when not listening to an awesome idle and rev go silent from driving. Eventually this thread wont be all boohoo and itll evolve into a full blown ride/"build" (not much to build) thread RV
  7. I bought the car I shoulda bought awhile ago. an 87 hatchy with impressive history from a member whose history I also respect. It took two days in the rain to get it out of mothballs and drive home this last weekend. PO kept warning me about stuff I should know.....shoulda gave myself a little more time to get my poop in a group on this one. But, its gonna work. Or Ill be damned, this thing is nicer inside than it is dirty outside at the moment.
  8. the rubber plenum has a rubber lip around it that the metal piece slips under. take your time with something thin and flat. they are a separate piece and made of metal for a reason: its structural...keeps the rubber intake from sucking in under heavy loads
  9. the only thing narrower on early 3rd gens as opposed to later ones is the trans tunnel. progress looks good
  10. its also important to consider where youre gonna get spares. hatchies/brats/and coupes are in short(ish) supply when compared with todays counterparts.
  11. iwould think a weber per hole would be too much. maybe look into mikuni carbs or something from the side draft itb guys....
  12. yes, theyll be burnt and usually in two pieces. like a fuse. hence, "fusible link"
  13. i have seen a ejawd swap into a vw caddy (rabbit pickup). it was awesome...get fabbing...
  14. was going to? how bout "should have already" lol sudrise? creative, i like it
  15. i have a complete dash to engine ea82t w tmic/bov running 15psi in my garage right now including xmember. lmk when youre ready. this motor ran for waaay longer than ive heard any turbo ea car go, and it was built at a shop in pierce county. it was in a gl10 on 235 r15s and walked on a boosted 240 nissan in a legit drag race. ps wheres the pics?????
  16. ah man...thats terrible. im sorry to hear that. good luck over there buddy
  17. gonna take the skis to some snow dunes?
