its easier to compress the spring first so you dont have to fight it when raising or lowering the spring perch. rears must be compressed to change the perch location to any of its 3 settings -
i have a race built ea82t in wa running 15psi w tmic and bov in my garage that needs a new home. i dunno how the budget regs would ding you though.

You have a touring wagon. dont get rear ended, the hatch is taller. those are scarce here in the states but abundant overseas

Thanks Wayne, but if I dont sell it by Wednesday or thereabouts im afraid im gonna have to use the nuclear option. I drove it up the street this morning, fire right up. no backfire on shutdown. would hate to scrap it but Ive got other things coming in.

ya, i think 800 is too much too honestly. the engine is awesome and the interior is good as well. at this point id probabluy go 450 and id throw in the jumpseats that came with it. theyre not great but its an easy fix

PO removes and replaced with HF stuff so as to not ruin the originals. has extra wiper motor and blower motor...guess why. dash lights dont work. brakes suck. sounds like an m80 when you shut it off warm. 800 obo....will trade for gen 2 hatch lol. i have the title

when i redid the hgs on my ea82 i removed the pistons , and ring. they were cleaned and re installed. i noticed an increase in oil consumption with no apparent source. I also deduced this as being a fault in the rings, its the only thing i didnt replace in the wear item department. (short of splitting the block of course....cmon its an ea82)

Worth it? yes. Youll need a pedal box, clutch/flywheel kit, and a 4wd gas tank though

there are plastic covers over your timing belts, they have rubber plugs in them. you can feel in there for tension on the belts. you can also remove the distributor cap and make sure the rotor set screw hasnt backed out. its happened to lots of us. after youve done that make sure the rotor spins when the engine is cranked. If your coolant doesnt smell like exhaust (check the overflow tank) and you arent seeing billowing clouds of white, probably not hgs
