  1. Im about 8 minutes from PLU. ill be home pretty much all day. Give me a call, I can get that thing to quit bleeding. 253 678 6137, Rob.
  2. valve covers(and grommets), cam towers, OIL PUMP is a usual deal. where at in the pnw are ya? ifn you can get here i can help (in person)
  3. ive recently aquired a parts car (lifted 86 gl10) with full 3" turbo back ex, wrc ic and a bigger turbo. I personally pulled this car from commission due to a lack of structural integrity. the funny part is this thing beat a boosted 240...in 4 hi. Ive always been on the nay side of this debate, but i have an ea82t that runs lots of boost and hasnt popped. lets re hash the knowledge folks....pics please
  4. an ea82 will also run with a broken timing belt.....
  5. Kinda. but not really. EA82s have been used in aircraft too, but i wouldnt trust mine. and i built it. Also the chassis of air-cooled vehicles are an important part of the equation. drive a beetle with bad seals and youll know what i mean, they cease to cool pretty fast, and since theres no empty coolant lines to fool the gauge, you see them overheat. plus they have cooling fins etc. apples and oranges. bottom line here, keep a hg set on deck, youre probably gonna need it now
  6. this is actually a common misconception. subarus are not wasserboxers. they are a take off of the Goliath engine. And I know, no lectures but, get a new rad, you ruined yours with the stop leak. they should call that stuff "stop working" or "stop looking for the real problem with my car" ok so the Goliath thing was covered...ill read next time
  7. 90% of a subarus value is sentimental. also one must consider the abundance of early legacies in the same price range. ps that oil leak, probably not hgs. redo your cam case after you eliminate valve cover gaskets as the issue.
  8. always use dealer part or stant exactstat blahblah bla
  9. research cam grinding to get a grasp on why. but, as I understand it, you are basically moving your power band around, based on what kind of characteristics you want your engine to have. low end torque or top end power. i believe lots of people building frankies install them because a) the engines already apart its a performance enhancing build, why not increase the performance a bit more. c) with added compression timing needs jimmied with (i think) hth
  10. you say you have read different forums about the swap, yet you do not know the hardships ahead of you. read. read. read. otherwise you will screw something up or buy the wrong stuff etc. end result: a pile of useless crap you cant sell anyone because they know better.
  11. keys were not in it. she drives it to work every day. Lots of miles... easy shim
  12. too bad she lives in Puyallup. the fact that someone stole one that ugly makes me not have a whole bunch of hope (chop shop), but time will tell.

  16. My Mom works at the southcenter mall and just informed me that her Green 1996 legacy with Oregon plates was just stolen from the 3rd floor parking garage of said mall. car is RUSTY on the roof near the roof racks. There are waaay too many old soobs getting stolen around these parts. We will find you, Ima get my Sam Jackson on...... My mom works 60 hour weeks and does not have an extra car. she just relocated to WA recently. She is a naturopathic healer, so enjoy the worst karmatic a s s kicking of a lifetime. ill get the lic # up here soon. time to buy a club for your early ejd soobs guys thanks RV

  18. bailing wire. look up the member here JacksonRally. if it works for him, itll work for you
  19. several local companies make lifts for your car. I would start woith outback or forrester suspension/brakes. rea lots, look in the offroad forum for more in depth info/compatibility etc and welcome to your new home. enjoy
  20. it is important to note that if youre gonna run two belts on the alt that both need to be the exact same belt and the exact same age (or shelf life). if one stretches before the other, it creates problems.
