  1. if you can, get a can of kroil. its expensive but also magical. it has an enzyme that eats rust. use as directed.
  2. i recently picked up a set of i pikes for my lifted loyale. i miss my winterforces, and the werent even studded. i just got a screamin deal on my new tires, old fronts were smoked. kinda had to/
  3. google it, been covered skillions of times. its bad, do your hgs or buy a used motor. welcome to usmb
  4. id go for 100 plus shipping to 98409 come tax time in the next few weeks or so
  5. well. youve got an outback now, wanna sell it?
  6. in short, yes. itll ruin your transaxle. google 4wd vs awd and youll see that the lack of a center differential means eventual, if not certain doom
  7. welcome! sweet ride. 4wd is as follows: all the way down=fwd. middle=4wd hi. all the way up=4wd lo. dont drive on dry pavement in 4wd, or without tires that are the SAME diameter (preferably the same tires). most of all take lots of pics
  8. brains? no, im merely regurgitating what i spend hours each day absorbing instead of progressing in more tangible ways. but youre welcome just the same
  9. im not surprised i missed that, thanks for clearing that up. sorry if i was being a butthole
  10. also a good choice for a first car due to the fact that they are slow as all get out, have an ebrake that grabs the front wheels instead of the back, and the spare tire (btw you can fit a fullsize 13" in there) acts as a barrier in a front end collision. you guys got a good deal on that one. wheelin huh? locally we have wilkeson, ive been up there and theres lots of roads and little trails. tahuya is down near belfair and is doable with a stock loyale, ive never been there but many have done it and lived to tell the tale. i will mention you have a straight ride there and it looks really good. trails/offroading is counter-intuitive to maintaining these characteristics. itll still look cool, only itll be beat up. decisions...
  11. i can do ya one better, i used a long headed 14mm bolt from a ea82 w ac and cut the threads off. AND i painted it red. bummer is, subaru used like 3 different bolts for that in different years and you cant get a socket on all of them, just the one kind:rolleyes: oem toolkit
  12. i have a set too, love em. i remember when you started this thread i hit you up for the centercaps. anywhoo, whatcha want for em? are you willing to sell singles or pairs? shipped to 98445
  13. well, since you asked.... a hole similar to that one resulted in me learning how to become hopelessly addicted to soobs..even though that was the third one ive had(1st ea82 tho) cheers, and gaff tape:headbang:
  14. how deep is the water jacket? if its into that youre done. if not, and it passes pressure test, id use em
  15. ya, head up above wilkeson. above the rock quarry. the roads go for miles and theres fun stuff to drive on. also, there is good, stock-friendly wheeling to be had in tahuya i hear. thats near belfair. ive never been there but may go this weekend ($$$ depending) and i know people w stock rigs that get through that place

  16. correct. unless you can chase the threads wit the right size tap. take the bolt to the hardware/parts store and gauge it. where you at? could possibly help. in the meantime hit up youtube for tapping tips.
  17. there is a member here who has a franken motor in his rallyx brat. google dude... or dare i say it, look up the original post on nasioc "high compression franken motor" iirc ej 25d block, phase 1 ej22e heads, roller rockers, solid lifters. its late, im stoned, gimme a break if im wrong. use hgs that go w the block you use...or use the cometic kit designed for this build (yup, they do that now). intake... i dont remember but if you have an egr, use an intake that accommodates that. ive heard tell that impreza harnesses are simpler to strip than legacy ones. do yourself a favor and pay someone to do it, plug and play is worth every red cent. hth, take lots of pics, we wanna see
  18. im in tacoma, if you need anything hit me up. welcome aboard 253!
  19. thank you, i had either neglected to notice that...or thought it was opposite day lol
  20. the hole in your (usdm)driver side cover in the pic will make your belt fail. stuff can get in, but not out.......ask me how i know
  21. soobs in the Tacoma Dome....booyah thanks for posting, Chux! wheres the rest of that article? im hangin here
  22. yes, we are aware lol. my next trip down to Siletz/Newport will most definitely include a pit stop there.
