upgrade1992 Loyale coil to after market performance type?
Subruise replied to Bob B's topic in NA Fuel Injection Engine Tech
my advice, run a search. you will conclude that the ea82 is not a platform that you can realistically make into a performance engine. it can be done, itll be expensive, it wont be all that reliable, and you still get eaten for lunch by stock ej motors. if you want your loyale to go quick, let alone fast....spend the $1500 and ej swap it. -
if its in Tacoma, Ill know. Sadly, i might mention looking in the surrounding wilderness. this reeks of "dude, Rally Car"......i pray this is not the case.

EA82 Timing Belt Help
Subruise replied to DrFrankenSoob's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
funny, mine works on any road. and real fast too. maybe its moist, maybe its not but my window melts ice on both sides if necessary. as for cooling, if your cooling system works you dont need a fan very often at all. ive gone crawling on dirt roads/wheeling on super hot days (as far as the pnw getsm so not THAT hot) and only needed to switch my fan on once or twice an hour and only whilst being atless than 5mph or so. also had to do that in holiday traffic once in awhile in the summer, if i sit for ten minutes or so. if you get a chance to use some compressed air you can clean the dust out of your rad in a jiffy. just try to do it outside. bottom line on ea82s imho: youre gonna need every one of those 90ish horses pullin that car around, might as well use em. -

run no covers. how often do you submerge your soob? thats what i thought. now take those covers off, if ya wanna be lazy (like me half the time) leave the rears until you have a slow saturday morning then do it. also, use google. it answers a lot of questions repeatedly asked around here. also rip out the ac and clutch fan. wire a toggle to the electric one. -
really?? he just makes me kinda wanna give up lol

pull the motor, it doesnt add that much time, and your back will thank you. the time it takes to r and i a motor cant be much more than the extra time it takes to find things you cant see/drop/didnt know were there etc. plus youll find AND have access to all the stuff you didnt know was wrong and fix it easier

ea82 gl wagon issues, wont start or run
Subruise replied to SubyGl's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
loyale2.7turbo is a member here and has a good write up on the relay. but for now ill tell ya the relays are above the fuse block on the left side of your ride, under the dash. Did you take the disty cap off yet??? if not youll find a little screw sitting in there, dont lose it. pull the rotor off and look at the hole. thats where the screw goes through and into the disty shaft. button that up, drive to the store and buy me a beer. .........and dont forget the cone washer was probably boogered.

i would suggest making your tabs too long until after you bend them. at that point you can square em up and then find your 2" range. mine are a little longer than 2" but idk how much, as i didnt build it. hth

is the deck height congruent with your 4-5mm dish? or is it greater? -
.........efn hope so.....i like full circles
-
yes, available for free at your local pap, thats where i got mine. unfortunately for me, my problem was the relay. when i replaced the wiring tho , i left it long so i can put the headlight above the grill for whatever reason. might be useful for something (like checking lights by yourself when a wall isnt available)
