you can use all kinds of mudflaps if you cant find some for a brat. my buddy has maxima stuff all over his legacy, looks great. find something you like and use it. get some self tapping panhead screws and call it a day RV

if you removed the 3 nuts at the top of the strut you allowed the strut to come down, which is not letting the axle get out enough because the axle and strut are still moving in unison. do some more searching, maybe watch a video or two, itll come to ya. whatever ya do, dont start beating the pee out of anything. ank me how i know:D RV

Jezsek, ya i rarely comment due to the textbook-like nature of your stuff. its hard to believe all that comes out of one brain. and so detailed as well... you are one of the main reasons i came to settle here on usmb. AK, well done. danger and irresponsibility aside of course lol. no flaming from me, but to "rally" is to accept such things. i love a good snow drift:D RV

Heater mystery solved! (I hope)
Subruise replied to jonas's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
no, thats a factory crimp. youre gonna erode the block with all that increased flow. -
i took a j bolt from a battery tie-down and used a vise to squish the hook until i could force it through the hole. i then threaded two nuts and a washer in a sandwich at the other end. clamp vise grips up there and smack with a hammeer. start out tapping and increase kinetic transfer until wrist pin comes out. it wasnt easy, and i couldnt re use the j bolt but ive made a few of these and pulled a bunch of pistons. i now strap my battery in with a ratcheting tie down:D

time to lawyer up dude. a crash like that is going to almost certainly never stop hurting, and compound itself over time. as for your ride RIP little buddy, fortunately there are brats around to be had. and i think edrach even had a thread goin about pricing them due to a very similar situation. get well soon RV

my 76 celica gt had a buick 3.8 and chevy running gear. scariest thing ive ever piloted. nice pic Tom, made me sniffle. some 10" wide tires on the back of a raked out gen 2 would be pretty cool, add traction bars and solid rear axle, and a ej

Lifted Loyale- CV axle problems
Subruise replied to Frankazoid's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
what kind of lift are you using? is it installed correctly? -
this discussion seems to have taken a turn to how people drive, not how vehicles behave. you can wreck a tricycle if ya cant drive one. i mean just because people are stupid doesnt mean drivetrains are. if you drive better w rwd, so be it. personally w my 4wd stuff i break it loose at slow speed then i know where itll break loose. no overconfidence here, be true to yourself and reality will be nice to you....usually. that is until some dude in a ej'd rx7 comes at ya sideways in the snow. and that is what will happen with that particular vehicle. are you really building that thing as a plausible alternative for a fwd legacy in the snow? or just because itll be one hellava ride overall?
