  1. weird. 3.7 gears or something? or did the parts guy think he knew what he was talking about and in reality ( as it so often happens) he did not.
  2. oh ya my bad. splines are identical. checked with clutch tool. the 4 spring came out of one of my cars (loyale probably), and the other disc/pressure plate came with the spare motor i got with the wifes new 88. hmmmmm.......
  3. i have two different clutch discs in my garage, both of which are same in OD. one has 4 springs, the other has 6. could someone splain this to me? thanx folks, RV

  6. a lot of us are pros. ever heard of a search function? use it. dont be insulting in here, and btw the yota guys wont take that crap either. if you need an answer that bad then go pay a pro to do it for you. otherwise use your keyboard and brain and figure it out. cmon, your thread isnt the only one on this subject so i know you can find one. this is the best soob forum ive ever seen. we're so helpful in fact that at times we can even help you help yourself. use the brake booster line. or one of the many other responses. good luck, hope it works RV
  7. youll have to drop the diffs and everything if you go over 2 1/64"......you guys know this right? plus itll wreck your camber and make your cvs spontainiousley explode without any prior notification. pfft newbs...........

  9. when i buried mty loyale a 94 f2fiddy diesel w mudders came to pull me out. got stuck. we ran chain to the road where 91_ej_22's (Sam) pulled IT out. 4tons pulled by a 300k origional motor/4eat:headbang: awesome day.
  10. youll be ok, happened to me. iirc, take clutch pedal off, then slide back on, replace pin. a bit of a pita, but not too bad. hard part being making the grommet happy.

  12. im probably making the cel return just by typing this but i think the code 34 is gone now. last night i decided to swap the solenoid from Crapwagon, broke it in the process. i installed the solenoid from the 88 to CW and no code. i found one more extra floating around. popped it in the 88 and, bang pow no code! i drove it around a bit, waiting, and no return:clap: same for this am. this pleases me. in a week and a half this car has gone from probable immenent catastrophe (my favorite cancer song btw) to good runner. yay RV

  15. oh no you di ent. those are pretty loud on ea82s. i think youll like it. my 88 has gutted exhaust otherwise we'd both be sayin 'uh oh'
  16. ill get some more pics up soon.....working off my phone still. i have a thread in members rides, basically, take TomRHere's wagon and add a bullbar and shadowmags lol. ive also been pulling parts from a jy 88gl same color same everything, except instead of 257k the jy twin has 394k! and people doubt the reliability of the ea82.....
  17. lets see, i bought an 88 gl wag one week ago. since then: cv's, front calipers/pads, 2 row rad, alternator, engine harness, egr valve/ solenoid, stereo, wheels, tires, tonight replacing blown strut. woodoo:headbang:
  18. put some rubber and magnesium on there today, safe to drive fast now (fast? lol). flushed the rusty, oily coolant out some more. WHAT THE BLOODY HEY IS UP W THIS CODE 34??? and why do my lights run w key?? its not the virgin switch btw. this things got hope yet......
  19. today marks seven days with the new ride. to recap, i have replaced the following: 2 row rad, alternator, front calipers/pads (old ones seized), brake flush (its clear, not green now), egr valve/vacuum solenoid, engine wiring harness (to rule out the code 34 issue). i cannot, for the life of me seem to rid myself of this egr code. there was lots of carbon in the intake from egr. should i pull it off and give it the ole pipe cleaner or something??
