The Awesome Older Generation Picture Thread
Subruise replied to 6 Star's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
ive seen this on some vdubs: its called an "interfooler" its for intimidation:Flame: -
i would be interested to see what one could come up with that fullfills all benifits of le donut whilst weighing less. i tried a few different things (fullsize 13'' was too small in center and too tall). i also ziptie a gallon of coolant in a horizontal position near the PS strut tower (ziptie handle to ''strut tower brace''/spare rack). donut spare=not heavy (or remove rubber? to each their own. im not tryin to troll or even convert anyone (nobody said i was =) just clarifying my solution to a few cubic feet of real estate that exists in our quirkmobiles cheers, RV

the donut does serve a purpose. it becomes a ''tray'' for a whole kit of usefull things. it just happens to fit snug and doesnt require modding anything, unless you count the tiedown bolt delete. also it acts as an isulator so i know nothings gonna burn up in there
-
i flip a donut spare upside down and put a jug of coolant, tow cable, extra belts, and oil in it. the hood still closes and actually holds the cargo in place.

the guy you talked to was me lol. the block is together but the pistons are out.
-
whatever you end up doing just make sure you disassemble the broken motor first before you split up another SB. that way if its too much of a pita you still have a plan B instead of plan A and a half
-
yup, ill be in touch RV

assuming youre talkin to me. and assuming you mean decals, no charge. some just fell off the vynil cutter this afternoon. oh, before i forget: when you put''subaru alliance'' in the blue on the bottom of the door you shouldnt cut the words out of the blue and have the cars paint be the words. put on your blue vynil, then put ''subaru alliance'' in white on top. make sense? easier visually. this way its waaaay easier to position.

every 80s nissan product ive driven has had a weak clutch, seemed to not work as well as everything else ive driven. i do like the 8 plug 4 banger. you can haul alot w those. btw weak clutch doesnt necessarily mean old or installed wrong in this case.

ive got a compressor and bracketry for ya, i deleted mine.

one other thing i just remembered; when we got our 86 wag (whitey) i had mystery coolant on top of my motor. it turned out to be the coolant hose up to the carb/IM. long story short; pinhole+pressure=squirt. btw i dont have a pressure tester, i was just suggesticating. You are welcome to come by whenever if you wanna noodle it out. hth, RV
