  1. can we see some pics?? i just lifted my loyale and am in the same boat as OP RV
  2. well maybe not so "mucho" of a lift, it sonly about a 2" lift but the other mods i did since sunday make it more of a mucho moddo. 91 loyale wag spfi 5mt. mods since sunday: ea82t fuel pump cross member/ rear axles/ struts/ a-arms/ sway bar from 88 turbo sedan 2" body lift fabbed by ninja tech (traded for a cherrybomb and a headlight:grin:) deleted front sway bar rear disc conversion nothin like pluggin up your little brothers garage for 4 days instead of one. all the while a steady stream of veedubbers rollin thru goin "i dont know jack about subarus", or, "you should lower that thing" oh well at least i had some help, and a bigger garage to use. ive still got some kinks to work out but now im on the hunt for some 6 lugs to redrill with some rubber left on em. pics to come RV
  3. dood! i just remembered that happening to me! Dirk take the pads out of the calipers and make sure theyre not upside down and can move freely in the caliper(you shouldnt have to force them in). RV

ok heres my solution: even with the labor involved. used spindle(incl. WB) 15 bucks. Hub $6. axle $15. yes these are JY prices, know why? cuz they are actually available at the JY. secondly, bigger/better brakes arent a huge deal id think with a lifted offroader. Rallyx/road car? def go w lego/imp. but then why would you lift it:lol: bla bla bla. youll know what youre doin when you do it. (just a) .02 RV
  6. please give me a nugget: ASV system?? whats that, how do i plug it? my 86 carby has a backfire most of the time i shift, not super loud but loud enough that i wanna know whats up. im sure thisll help the OP as well. thanx, RV
  7. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=115403 heres the fleet so far. even tho we bought the 86 for her shes been driving my loyale (it has ps/pl/pw etc) its easier to get the kiddo around like that. works great for me cuz i get to drive around in one of the cleanest 86 gl wags ive seen. i have all the receipts dating back to the orig sale. rare options too. nice lifted car hope you get it back. RV
  8. sounds good. ill have to see if i can make it happen. maybe i can get my brother in on it too, he'll have fun takin a break from vws RV
  9. might have to get something together. soon. whatcha doin this weekend?
  10. hey, im in puyallup. i can always use a friend with a shop bigger than the oversized storage unit that passes for a garage at my apts. ive got a whole rear susp/disc brake set up and lift to install on my loyale. like beer??? RV
  11. can anyone think of a good reason (dont say,"it fits better") to put the exhaust so close to the oil pan? REAL dumb if you ask me. BRING BACK THE BUGEYES!!!!!
  12. check your ball joints. changing wheel diameter maight have changed the geometry of them and, while they sounded fine w/ the old wheels the wear may show now. or i could be totally wrong. but check em. RV
  13. hey man you still need parts? i finally got around to taking the motor apart. do you have a pic of which bracket you want? theres a big one and a little one

  14. what kind of car/engine? if its a ea82 i dont think you can bend the valves because its a clearance engine (also called non-interference). thats why you dont bend valves when your timing belt breaks. im not saying valves cant get bent, just not like that. RV
  15. you have a future in journalism/books. might be a good way to get a new brat when that one evaporates. RV
  16. joe public, one of my favorite subhumans songs. 1mpg is like the diff between having one or two 1/4 pounders for lunch. RV
  17. thats awesome, welcome aboard. my first car was a 81 coupe fwd. if im correct your car is a 5 speed. does it have the 1.8 or the 1.6 motor? either is good but one is bigger. basically keep coolant in it (read: DO NOT OVERHEAT) change the oil regularly, this car will last a long time if you do rudimentary maintenance on it. look out for rust. at 83000 miles you got a sweet car. RV
  18. 86s are cool, they have shorter bumpers and if its 4wd i think they all came with the dual range 5spd
  19. well im sure it would work w/ a ea81 if you had a ea81 that could take the boost. as far as it being the same turbo they used on the ea81t i have no idea. talk to GD like vagen said, hes the man. ill figure out how much to ship and get back to ya
