there isnt, its all in the auto car's tcu. ive swapped em. hmmmm real head scratcher here. ill sleep on it and see what i come up with. but first:stupid questions. are all of the intake boots tight? did you get incorrect cap rotor form the parts store by mistake? it happens from time to time (rotors hitting caps etc) what do the plugs look like? just wet and not crushed or anything? sorry, I know you know this stuff.....but its the little dumb stuff that gets us sometimes

body to frame bolt size for 86 gl?
Subruise replied to ragingbull's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
buy the highest grade you can. its a 12x1.25 thread pitch. the ones i bought for my 4" lift were $3 each at tacoma screw with my company discount (i work for an architectural sign company). -
Not sure how this works

the repair section is more of a repair manual section than a " what do i repair" section -

gls and loyales have different maf sensors if that helps....cracked disty cap maybe???
-
hey bud, i know im far away but ive got a disty i can give ya.
-
have you checked that the rotor set screw hasnt come loose?
-
i know its kinda barbaric but i use vice grips to grip em and then a hammer in conjunction with twisting back and forth. Lubricate liberally, I wouldnt fret about bunging up the pins, theyll still do the job

Crank Pulley seal ? W/ ? behind seal.
Subruise replied to Dinky26's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
as stated above, dont remove your new seal if you can avoid it, youll ruin it. if you have to pull it go buy a new one first to get seals in correctly i use a trick i learned from MilesFox's videos. use a 10mm deep socket and a small hammer to tap around the edges of the seal until its flush w the crank case. youll notice the sound change as the socket meets the aluminum. this keeps you from going too deep. Ive seen lots of screwed up seals from folks using the pvc pipe method incorectly and so I usually dont recommend or explain that one. (and so i havent here) -
i got an elk right outside siletz the first time i got to drive a wrx.....caved in the roof

since (and purely because) you asked. Yes, you are over by around %50. first its an 86 turbo car, not the greatest MAF system in those. Second, for 4k it better have all the trim, all original paint, receipts, new h20 pump, belts, full overhaul and fresh pro detail job/perfect interior. yours is less than perfect, 4k usually means beautiful car with an ej installed correctly. I would also be wary of comparing other car sales to that one. You got 1300 off your wagon for the same reason i got 1200 of a 88 wagon i cleaned up after rescuing fron snoqualmie. It was functional and not too ugly. 2k is about the best I would ever expect from any stock(ish) gen 3 soob. 13-1500 is usually the cealing. True, that is a rare bird youve got there but let us not forget the difference between pride and price

lol, my first lift took a week of driving to my little brothers house. I learned to get under the car first, and become familiar with the general layout. The first one is most definately harder than the rest.

modifying ones car is becomes a real big safety issue without the willingness to figure it out. Instant gratification teaches nothing, and endangers the other people on the road that could care less about how cool a lifted wagon is. At some point youve gotta get dirty yourself or youll hurt someone because you didnt. Preferably, before you spend a bunch of money on stuff you havent researched. And most of all, everybody needs somebody to tell them that. The earlier the better.
