  2. THE BRAT GO KART??!!! time to scuba my friend....................... my condolences RV
  3. nice car!! if i were to abandon my 91 loyale wag itd be that car. ps lemme know if you want a wagon:) i might trade ya RV pps welcome "back"
  4. again, mazda stuff.........................ive seen a rx w/ that motor. I used to rock a festiva (dont laugh) there is a motor mount kit to bolt a 13b into a festiva. my point: if a festy can handle it a xt surely can. think of the sleeper aspect, kinda hard to hide a v8, not to mention the difficulties of making that swap doable. by all means do what you want!!!! anywho just my $.02 RV
  5. mazda 13b rotary would kick rump roast and improve handling due to reduced weight. plus you can turbo it. plus it revs all the way to eleven:headbang: RV
  6. type: shade tree, recreational, maintainance how long: 5 or so years. ive always done all the work on my cars, dad was a body man and shade tree himself.dive in and swim works on: ea81, ea82, inlaws/friends cars. im kinda the family mechanic. skillz: fixing paint(cut/rub/buff). easy body work. fix/refurb guitars/basses. By trade: im a sign maker, i just learned to tint windows thru work. i do lots of vinyl work
  7. welome!!!! my first car was called the angry bee, it was a 81 glf coupe. the exhaust came loose from the straight pipe and you could hear it a mile away. shoulda called it mr noisy RV
  8. well done...............makes me wish i had the pic i drew of my old festiva, back before i was beaten into the subie gang fo life
  9. subaru did make 14" wheels, but not wagon wheels. look in su barus of the 80's, good luck finding a set RV
  10. its.........still............ALIVE!!!!!! mwahaha. choose two: fast, reliable, cheap. ya dont get all three. ever.
  11. the only way youll get a "fast" ea82 na is to drop it from 80,000 feet. im not sure terminal velocity is on one of these but its faster than itll ever get on the ground w/ the orig motor RV
  12. sounds like a headgasket. check the thermostat tho and make sure thats not it. with these things when they overheat/blow HGs they can warp the heads pretty bad. but on the bright side, i had an older one that ran with a bad HG for & years....just keep putting water in it:lol: RV
  13. ^^^ whoah no kidding, im sure hed be in it for more than a grand tho. good going giraffe
  14. welcome to the fold.....................you will find everything you need here RV
  15. rear main seal? if theres one thing i know about yotas its when they get a lot of miles they go thru a bunch of oil RV
  16. if the rotor isnt moving its prolly a tbelt. turns out theres an easy test: pull the tbelt covers:grin: when you change the tbelts(DO BOTH) change the pulleys/springs oil/water pump gaskets. RV
  17. hey brian welcome to usmb. and you are right, you will be here often RV
  18. SUP! welcome aboard, whatcha drivin?
  19. in my opinion, having a car youve owned for awhile allows you to know its quirks/past problems/tendencies etc which i believe is more valuable than getting something a little lighter/rarer that you have limited knowledge of. ea81 wags are billy goats man......you should keep it RV
  20. welcome back, and go grizzlies! advice: take your time and read the directions thoroughly before starting the job:) RV
  21. oh, just realized you are rockin a wagon my parts car is a sedan so i dont think the rear seat is compatible. the mirrors all good tho

    Rob

  22. hey, the door panels are gone but i have all the seats and mirrors(pwr) what do you mean by split rear seat? mine is a bench w/ armrest and seat backs that open to the trunk, all are gray. you can call my cell 253 301 7402 or pm me back

    thanx, Rob

  23. ya, i was thinking that a ratio of 3.7 would yield less gass milage than a 3.9 but im new to converting diffs and if i was going to do a tranny swap itll have to be a dual range for sure. while ive got you on the "line" 'chux, could you clarify: my donor car is a sedan and my loyale is a wagon. im good right? thanx man Rob
