  1. Alternator died today, oh well I have extras. Other than that it is going fine. I still have stuff left to do, but my money is going into other things... It supposed to be in the 90's this week anyway so I'll probably wait to change it until this weekend. I have the wrx, and that has A/C

It always does up here. I've had issues with the captured nuts before one some older rusty outbacks. Yours is new enough it hopefully wont bother.
  4. Awesome man! Were you at WBM? I think I saw your legacy if that's what you drove there.
  5. Very good in the snow, decent on gas, and I have driven my 82 and 84 to Pennsylvania with out an issue from Vermont, but they have been very well maintained and no longer have the stock carburetor, the engine is built proof, overall great cars. The only concern moving that clean of a car to Ohio would be rust. It would get to it quick. If I found a hatch that clean, there's no way I would drive it in the salt belt during the winter, but that's just me
  6. It was a great time. It was nice seeing some fellow Subaru owners that I hadn't seen in a long time. I also picked up some parts for my WRX while I was there
  7. Digging the flaps! Thing is looking great. What's next for it?
  8. Well the car made it down there and back no problem. I put around 500 miles on it this weekend. It drove very well, and is still getting excellent milage. I didn't put it in the show, but general parking was enough of one. I talked to quite a few people about it, I think most people were surprised someone so young owned it, and others were surprised I drove it down from VT. A couple cars from Bag riders. I saw only two older gen's this brat, and a 70's sedan which I have seen on here a few times. My car with my friend Nick's it is putting down somewhere around 300 wheel hp.
  9. Yeah that's what I was thinking. I would be okay with spending 30-40 in total, but I'm not going to miss out, and I want to show this thing off As for today I got the windshield resealed and my feet stayed dry on the way home (yes it was raining)... The aftermarket seal didn't seat to the windshield very well causing a leak between the two. I also hat the chrome strips put back in around the window. I may paint them black, but for now I'm leaving them.
  10. No $20 is not bad, but the separate $50 for putting my car in the show is kind of ridiculous. $70 seems like a lot....
  11. That's a good deal. I've been looking at similar stuff, and it is pretty expensive. It is good to go over board with that stuff, believe me, these cars need it.
  12. Do fix that, my other GL had issues with the doors hitting the rockers. On top of rusting, they squeaked like no one's business. None of the shows I have been to have been in VT Off to Connecticut this weekend with it should be a good (all subaru) show http://www.wickedbigmeet.com/ Tickets are awfully steep though. I'm hoping to get good deals on some parts for the wrx to make up for it. My old ones? The mounts are only for fwd's if that is okay. I'd have to figure out shipping, and my life and the post office's hours don't always line up...
  13. Where did you pick up the fatmat? I have to do something with mine. After chucking all of the original stuff out it is pretty loud inside. Gets old on all the long trips I've been taking it on.
  14. Hey Jason,

I'll be in Connecticut this Saturday at a subaru show. I'm around most any other time. I'll have to look in my inventory and see what I have. I'll be around later in the day, probably not until 6 or so. Sunday I should be around working on various car projects.

  15. Just put my new ball joints in. Glad I did, the boot had totally fallen off from the drives side, hence the bad noises it was making when it got hot. I also reattached my deck lid shocks with proper hardware and hopefully they won't fall off and scratch the heck out of my paint, I have to repair a section as it is down to metal now. Can't wait to take it to Wicked Big Meet this weekend!
  16. I got some new ball joints for this last week. One of them has started to squeak when it gets hot. No play, but I thought it would be nicer to change them out before I take it on yet another long trip next weekend!
  17. Another Vermonter I'm located in the Montpelier area. I won't clog up Tom's thread too much with this. You should start your own build thread so we can follow along there! Federated Auto can mix up pain here locally, there are a few other places that do it as well. I may have a couple doors, and a fender around for an ea82 as well along with a good hatch and few other odds and ends. As Tom said, I would get some 18g metal to work with I just picked up a 3x5ft piece of it from a local parts supplier it never seems to last as long as you need it to! -Shaun
  18. That looks so awesome there. Have you had a chance to use it yet
  19. Ahh now that you mention the camber I can tell. Mine will be about that low as well, maybe a bit higher due to the 15" wheels and larger tires I'm running. I'm going to try to figure out some rear coil overs, as I have fronts now. I need to get back on that, vw is taking up all my time What are you going to be using for civic springs? I need ideas for my FWD when the time comes
  20. is that photoshopped, or the actual results, because that looks sick!
  21. Mine were like that for a week, mine came with a harness, it is relatively simple, a switch, fuse, relay, and some wires, regardless they fit the look of the car well.
  22. Haha it will last a while, it will go well with the pathfinder I use offroad. The nissan has lasted me years, welded diffs and all. I built it with my friend in high school autotech. I'll make sure to take some vids of it at some point, along with the nissan.
  23. Picked up a 97 outback for free, looks like I have found a good hood to cut up for a scoop zzz. The outback is rusty, real rusty. So off road is they way it shall spend its last miles (engines not worth anything 2.5 dohc that burns oil and coolant) Should be fun
  24. Love the hellas on there. Also that looks so much fun, we aren't allowed to run on the trails here in the summer, snowmobile only
  25. Thanks, the front seats where one of the first things done to the car, a dog got a bit happy with the last ones. I scored that forester compass for 50 bucks along with some other parts at my "local" junkyard. I was pretty psyched. I'm not sure if the rear seat would fit in an ea81, but the fronts have been done before. IMO they are some of the most comfortable seats out there, I absolutely love them. Hm, I would think that would be easier as the seats are basically the same in the two different models. The newer impreza wagons have a much different style seat as the bottom no longer flips up. I was a little worried after I bought them if I could get them to fit....
