  1. +1 On the gen one lego! I just got my first one three weeks ago for $650 needing a door and an alternator ( I had both) It's been awesome! Even being an auto (which i usually hate) it's surprisingly peppy and gets decent milage. It can be a little annoying on the highway because the auto likes to shift a lot up hills, but with a 5speed the thing would be amazing. -SB
  2. It took me forever to learn how to post pics! And that's nothing for rust! you should have seen the ones that I have fixed Vt winters are a little rough on the cars from the 80's! Any other plans besides fixing the rust? -SB
  3. +1 on what GD said. the 82 cluster was just a red colored version of the white gages that came on 83 and later ea81s. That one is a little older.
  4. I would just check around a junk yard you can get some steelies for pretty cheep! I personally like pug wheels they fit great (as in no lugs needed to be added and they have a really close to original offset) And if you don't want to lift, but want bigger tires they require minimal cutting
  5. WOW THAT THING IS CLEAN! I wish i didn't have to drive 1600 miles to get a Subaru that nice (which I have done) ! Lovin' the new front end as well!
  6. I can't wait for snow!!!!! Here in VT we get a ton I have complete ob suspension going in my 92 lego this weekend, it's going to be a great winter!! We have also in the past, had a 93 loyale with a plow we built, it was unstoppable until I blew the oil pump out of it and cooked the trans (it didn't like pushing a lot of wet snow)
  7. Welcome aboard! Pics are always nice! I totally agree on the wrx being one of my favorites as well, but for some reason I can't stay away from my 82 gl! -SB
  8. I've been there. Right after I did the five speed swap in my SVX the speed sensor went bad. It was real crappy. I was in the process of selling mine as well and it made people doubt the 54k the car actually had. Luckily I had like 3 impreza parts cars so I was able to swap mine out with one of those. Hope you get it fixed up soon! -SB
  9. I fixed mine Turns out the P.O. just took the fuse out for some reason, I finally got to take a close look at the car this week and that's all it was, now the seat belts work again! And there is no seatbelt light now! If anyone need's to know they are connected to the hazard fuse. Thanks for the help everyone When they actually do go bad now I will know where to look! Cheers -SB
  10. +1 on the getting sideways and on the suspension mods A lot of parts are interchangeable from other models to make it stop and handle better. You wont gain much but noise with and exhaust and an intake unfortunately, the factory systems are pretty free flowing.
  11. Welcome aboard, nice wagon I just picked up a 92 wagon! I like the idea of the flooring that should look pretty sick! Also +1 on the strait pipe from the cat back, I just had that done to mine and it sounds amazing!
  12. First off welcome aboard! Sounds like you have quite the project! As for the rust I have fixed some really bad ones. I have a 1982 GL wagon that was missing the rocker panels and the rear quarter panels, but the floor was pretty solid. There is a company that makes some replacement parts that I used and with some cutting and some welding they fit pretty well! It really depends on how bad it is, if it's breaking in half it's probably worth finding a good solid one that needs a few parts, and turn your current one into a parts vehicle. I'd say go with your instinct and use it as a beater for a few months and buy a really nice one afterwards! Even if you do get it looking really nice and weld in new panels, that rust is still under there somewhere and will comeback someday. As far as the lug nuts I have had a bear of a time getting them off on one Loyale but they are normal thread, somebody probably just way over tightened them and now the threads are stretched out so they wont come off. If your interested here's the link for the repair panels! http://www.rustrepair.com/index-mf.html -SB
  13. Thanks I think the whole car came out pretty dope! I need to give that door another shot of paint, but it's so nice to drive with the outback seats!
  14. Just picked up this 92 legacy ls 2 weeks ago! Before After
  15. Thanks for the Input/Help, I tried a box out of my parts car I'm not sure if it was good or not seeing that I had no way of testing it due to the fact the car is missing most of it's harness. It didn't change anything :-\ My next place to look will be the connectors, but I most likely won't have time until next weekend but I'm determined to fix this problem! And I sold my SVX it was really nice 54k five speed swap, but a WRX came along in my price range (1600 miles away) and I sold it to pay for it.
  16. More Progress today! Body matched mirrors, body filler (lots), AWD stickers, and paint!
  17. It is a wagon! And my SVX had the same problem, I will check all of these locations today and see If I can get it to work. The connectors with corrosion sound like a good place to start because the sunroof leaks like crazy and the PO left the window down filling the car with water. Thanks! -SB
  18. Today's progress "custom intake" and a **** load of body work. Took way to long and it's still not done here is a pick of the new exhaust as well! It sounds amazing and with the added "flow" of the intake it has a real nice h4 rumble!
  19. Welcome aboard! Nice collection! I really like the old Imprezas makes me miss my coupe a lot!
  20. As annoying as power seat-belts are, they are even worse when they don't work I just picked up a 1992 Legacy LS with power everything (unfortunately) and the power seat-belts do not work (both sides). They don't even try to move, and the seat-belt light on the dash is blinking all the time which is very annoying at night! Right now they are in back position so it's not a huge deal. Also my power sunroof doesn't work. Could they be related? I was just wondering if anyone had had this happen to them and what a potential issue may be? Thanks in advanced! -SB
  21. Tonight I swapped in OB seats, polished the headlights, changed all the fluids, had my dad fab up a cat back exhaust ( I know it's an auto but the old one was rather porous ) and I started on the door and rear quarter that needs attention (I only got black primer on tonight) Tomorrow I might swap in OB struts and finish the body work along with put some other goodies on, along with fix the sunroof, it leaks like crazy
  22. Pooparu your hatch has been my inspiration thus far on my Brat project you have an amazing automobile Great work -SB
  23. Thanks for the complements by the way I love your avatar wagaru! I love these gen ones! they are very hard to find where I live so finding a solid one is amazing! I'll post more pics this weekend after I do more work! Spiffing up Spiffy
  24. The fenders from most of them fit, from the body change up to 1982 they had a little bit different grill and the antenna is on the wrong side but with some trimming they fit fine. Look for RUST! The rocker panels and the floors tend to be an issue! A little is okay but if they are missing (like mine were) it's a lot of work and sometimes is not reparable! -SB
