The torque specs of any Subaru Castle Nut is about 150 ft.lbs (Just get a breaker bar and a 3ft bar for an extension and just stand on it) make sure the cotter pin hole lines up with one of the holes on the axle shaft end. And do use a cotter pin to keep the castle nut from undoing its self
