  1. That is awsome!!! Wish I could do that!!!!
  2. My 81 does a similar thing sounds like a mariachi band when I drive, I traced it to the U joints. Good luck
  3. It think that is skips setup not sure where to get the pic, can't seem to find his home page
  4. I thought about doing that too but how are you going to hone the cylinder, Won't the rod get in the way. ie the rod will be resting on the bottom of the cylinder at the bottom of the stroke?
  5. Mine bit the dust and every time I boosted the heater would start to blow out the dash vents, tried to fix it myself but the thing like you said just exploded, lots of springs and plastic going everywhere. I just got a junk yard jobber, best 5 bucks I ever spent. Sorry I can't be more help.
  6. Not sure if this is true on the subi manafold but if you lenghten the intake runners, for example ,the carb spacer you might be able to get some low end torque. Not sure on the details, might want to look it up. It was a long time ago that I read the post.
  7. Can't see the picture, I don't remember having to hammer on anything with my 81 4wd wagon. Good luck.
  8. I heard that there was something about the newer soobs knocking, the dealerships where to tell the customer that it wouldn't harm anything, this is from memory so not 100% sure.
  9. Ya I got a pic with my brother and I in front of it except it was like 10 at night, no hood . Whoever got those did a good job, it was a nice touch. Just in case you couldn't see the lines and lines of subarus behind the fence.
  10. Well I found two white ea-82's but only one has the steelys on it. I posted the only pic of it. The other ea-82 was in the pit but it has alloys see for your self
  11. On my ea-82T the long bolts on both sides were really stuborn. I broke the head off of both of them. We pryed up on the manafold, we sprayed, we let it sit for a day. Addmitting a partial defeat we had just enough space to cut one of the bolts under the manaford makeing that side free. Then standing on the top of the engine pulling from the cut bolt side (passenger) we got the driver side bolt to pull throught the manafold. What actually happend was the bolt rusted inside of the manafold, not in the threads, after we removed the manifold the bolts screwed right out of the heads. I am not sure what your situation is your might be rusted into the threads? Hope you get it figgured out
  12. that is weird i have a napa dealy in my 86 and I heated it up severly just launching once in low 4wd lots of slipping stock boost. after driving 4 miles it was still smokeing seams to be working ok now though maybe I just hazed it a little. what is the best way to cool those things off, push the clutch in and let it idle for a while?
  13. Let me know what it looks like i took a total of 500 pics in and out of the pit. I am sure that I took some of your wagon. e-mail me if you want I might even have some video too.
  14. That is really trippy I guess I never looked inside an ea-71 before.
  15. Seeing it in person and hearing it makes a big difference. That thing didn't miss a beat, great job!!!
  16. What type of epoxy are you useing for the "bpv to the intake side of turbo" I have to do that exact same thing. I was thinking I would have to make my own boot but your way looks pretty clean.
  17. Awsome find!! Got mine free too, take a good look at the wiring. Mine had been sitting for a couple of years and mice got into it. I vote ditch the autocrapper and get a real trans. Good luck!
  18. Thank you guys so much, this year was the best I have been too, there was always something going on. Good people, good food, lots of subarus, Thanks a bunch!!!
  19. WJM that is what I saw first too, do you know if ALL XT's had this or only foreign xt's had this, that would be cool to have, move O2 sensor there and easily plum in an Exhaste Gas temp into the old O2 sensor location.
  20. subaru_styles I was thinking about doing that too, Last couple of meets I ended up only being there for one-two days and it just wasn't enough. I have to talk to my brother and refresh my memory about when he gets the time off.
  21. they probably just preload the bar more on the wagons comparied to the hatchs
  22. Well they seem to work did a test drive and no leaks, lost a hubcab though
  23. GLCraigGT that is kinda what I thought, they seem to seal ok guess I will try them till I can get the right ones. Thanks
