  1. Greetings all, I've been lurking here a while and seen lots of neat stuff. My personal project has been dragging on way too long (just passed the 12 month mark ) but I thought I fill people in on what I've been working on. If you want to check it out, I occasionally put updates here: http://fastwagon.blogspot.com/p/wrx-build.html along with other projects that come and go (Saab turbo, etc). Unfortunately I barely have time to wrench, let along write about it on the internet.... Hopefully it will be running in a week or so, then it's break in time before a nice E85 tune. I'll be sure to make it out to the SE WI events once I have a working car.
  2. I just got done replacing my clutch on my 02 WRX during a motor rebuild. I have the motor back in the car and reconnected to the transmission. I used an Exedy kit, with a new pilot bearing and throwout bearing. I fear I installed the throwout bearing incorrectly. I have the clutch fork engaged to the bearing tabs but I cannot get the bearing to engage the pressure plate. I stole these photos depicting the bearing and retaining clip. On my old clutch, this clip was VERY securely fastened to the pressure plate. After going over many installation writeups and photos, I thought I understood the system. The Exedy bearing came with the clip fastened to the bearing. I placed the bearing+clip onto the transmission input shaft, engaged the fork into the tabs, then dropped the motor in. I fear that the flange pointed out by the red arrow should be on the inside of the pressure plate (meaning its backwards in these pictures). I think I have to separate the motor and tranny and re-installed the pressure plate. I tried repeatedly to use the fork to press the clip into the pressure plate but nothing worked. I verified that the fork is still secure in the two tabs.
  3. mmmmmmmmmm they're spectacularrrrrr.
