Wheelin with the buggy at Walker Valkey this weekend 26 sept

What was your issue keeping it from running at the Subaru Show? -
You're hearing the tailgate chains rattle through the frame. GoPros pick up a lot of noise through their housing and mount.
-
I might be down. Have my motor torn down almost ready for new HGs.
-
Sad day. I can't make it, will be on the east side.
-
A full front Tacoma double a arm assembly would be rad.
-
If you really wanted to for real race it then you should gut the whole car down to the unibody and start your build from there. No point in using anything other than quality stuff too. People would be reluctant to help you because they have their own projects they are funding for themselves and so far you have nothing other than "Here is my car, please make it a racecar". You have not shown any progress on your project or that you are capable of accomplishing anything other than brain storming. Give us a show of what you are doing and then maybe you still get a little support.

Yeah you are probably closer to 2500 stock, or even less. Even with all the modifications you want to do I couldn't see you breaking 3k. Good Luck.
-
Your going to remove the wheel wells?
-
Is that wagon solid enough for a build? Looks pretty rusty.

I have one of the no name 24" bars from Amazon and it put out tons of light with very little power draw. Only suggestion would be to take it apart and reseal it as I have noticed some moisture inside. I also bought a 4 LED small bar to install on the interior but it would make a good rock or low spot light.

Looks like I need to put a rush on the EJ swap. I would be down for this.
-
Road signs would work, but you might have a hard time explaining how you obtained it to any law enforcement. I know a few different companies like Primitive or Rallitek make them as they should be the same as Legacy/Outback ones. As far as home made goes you would just have to find a piece of scrap steel or aluminum and cut or bend it to your needs.
-
There are a couple different companies who make lift kits for Bajas. So its not impossible but if you don't want to spend any money then I wouldn't suggest lifting it as you would then need to make other adjustments to correct all the suspension geometry that you just changed. Plus the biggest reason for lifting your car is to put bigger tires on it for even more ground clearance. The ground clearance is needed for offroading which will cause you to spend more money fixing stuff that wears out faster or breaks. I would say find a decent skid plate or build one and then find some more aggressive tires. Those two alone will be easy and would be a good start.

Doing a 2" suspension only drop will stress your axles more than normal. You will run into them failing more often. Doing a full body drop along with the suspension drop with help keep the angles stock and will prevent a little bit of extra wear and tear. Unless you are building a wheeler only then I would highly suggest it.

I guess I still don't understand. You had to much negative offset? The wheel stuck out too much?
-
What was the reason for doing it that way and not just using a standard 6 lug wheel?
-
Installed an extended rear diff breather. Upgraded the 6 accessory fuse panel to a 12 Moved the 6 to the back. Installed a volt meter battery terminal.
-
This would be the correct way. Then just get some plugs for the transmission.
-
Then you will like this. This was right after Jeff lifted it!
-
Here is what it looked like a couple years ago.

That is Dans old car. It has had a few owners since then but it looks like it still has the 2" lift that has always been on it. All suspension. Like others have said if you want to alleviate the stress on the axles dropping the diff and engine crossmember an inch will help. Also to note this car has been rode hard and put away wet. You may want to go through a lot of it and double check stuff.
