I cut the fenders right in front of the front tires only, you kinda notice it on the top picture, where the black fender plastic stops.
-
I will post some more when i get home from school but heres a good one.

well the tires are studded also, and my exhaust is really loud, so far, no one cares.

Well its been a while since ive been on here. My Loyale died so i went out and got a 85 GL wagon with a dual range for $250. It needed a water pump so after hours of pullling the motor apart a few times and chasing leaks i think i have it finally buttoned down. Just got the lights on a couple of days ago, there not completely hooked up yet, still some more work but this is what i have done so far. Whats a car without some crazy floor mats. So far the mods i have done are... Drilled Chevy wheels with 195/60/15 tires up front and 215/60/15 tires in rear Had to cut fenders to make tires fit. Light bar with 3 6" KC daylighters Not much but man does this car get a lot of strange looks. Enjoy.

Im Back!! With A New Ride!!
Vegablade replied to Vegablade's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Would a aftermarket temp guage hook up to the stock sensor? Or do i have to install a new sensor? As for the accuracy of the digital guage, it doesnt show anything at all. Every other guage works, just not the temp guage. -
Alright after being so busy this summer and after killing my loyale, i finally bought myself a new subaru. Its a 1985 GL Wagon, with a carbed 1.8, a dual range 5-speed, all digital dash, power windows, locks, and even a power sunroof. I like it a lot, when i bought it, it needed a new water pump. I replaced it and i didnt get it sealed properly so it leaks a little. I will fix this later. The question i have right know is that the temp guage is not working, i replaced the sending unit, the one on top the motor, and this did not help. Is there a different sensor i cant find? Also, what is the possibility of replacing it with a different guage, like one i mount on the dash or something. When im working with the cooling system i would like to have a proper sensor. Well thanks a lot. Feels great to be back.

Haha, thas awesome, some people. well keep up with the good off-roading work, and yes these subarus are capable of more than they appear. -
well i like to see that my thread is still going. my friend is putting the 383 in a 1/2 ton chevy he got and he is taking the 350 that was in it out and him and another guy are putting it into a datsun 1200! as for me if i cant get my subaru running the v8 swap is looking more and more plausable as to my car has been sitting for months and has its own lawn under the hood. like in my sig. if i cant fix it i dont know what im going to do. i will work on it some more tommorow but other wise in not mechanic and might just get rid of it. oh yeah, as for burnouts, my car does awesome burnouts being that it is RWD and with that front e-brake i filled to school parking lot with smoke last year. no-one forgot that its almost been a year and the marks still their. everytime i see someone leave the parking lots spinning their tires, i ask them if they remeber my subaru and they look at the ground and say yea i remember. hahahaha. watch my rally video, i think a little burnout is in it.

skinny tires and light car make it very easy, thin tires cut through the snow while a wide tire will just slide around the top, not matter how agresive the tread.
-
sounds like fun, subarus are great in the snow!
-
the fuseable links look good. should i get a new one and check anyway? it gets spark and everything and the fuel is going to the injector but the injector isnt spraying any fuel.
-
i need some help in a bad way becuase my car has not been running for a few months and im starting to lose hope, i do not have any power to my injector it doesnt do anything, i went over a hill and my car just died and now it doesnt run. it turns over fine and strong and my fuel lines are fine but the injector doesnt spray. i dont think its the injector itself because there was no power to the fusebox. what do you think, the wires are way to hard to follow but has this happened to anyone before? i need to get my car running, its starting to grow its own lawn.
-
so were is this guy located at exactly, i live about 40 minutes away and maybe we could wheel and deal, i need some parts to get my car running again.

looking good, im diggin' the exhaust too. -
your light bar looks good, did you use a yakima rack to make it?
-
hey sweet you got the lights on, how did you mount them? finally got that thing muddy, its so much fun, i wish my car was running right now. maybe it will be next time your up here then i will challenge you to a race! haha well see ya around.
-
just an idea and was just wondering if it has been done before, i would do it but my lack of fabrication skills and $ makes it hard i know lots of people but they dont have the time. i did get to drive my friends frod ranger with a v8 it was insane couldnt keep the tires stuck. it was stripped down so it was really light. it was so much fun to drive.

Help, my Loyale GL10 with inyector consume 18km/gl
Vegablade replied to lima4's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
so your saying the turbo has been removed from the car? that might be it right their, if you car is tuned for a turbo and it has been removed that might screw things up. i dont know a lot but it doesnt sound good to me. -
since i live in the middle of nowhere there a quite a few trails, one place called 10 Acres has some good hill climbs. lots of mud holes too. you should come down sometime, my car doesnt run but my buddy would follow you in his toyota im sure.

i mean my engine is on its last leg, until i find a doner car for parts im stuck. now im not getting power to my injector, even in the fuse box? maybe computer i just want a car that wont strand me every were i go, i had to walk like 2 miles down a hill just to get home after it died.
-
hmm...was thinking of mid engine but yeah it would take a lot, just thinking about trying to find an rx and put and old ej in it. my wagon is going down hill.
-
besides an ej what other motors have you seen or heard of in anykind of subaru.
