  1. it's all good... just thought I would ask... if you do scan it, I would love to know if it turned out...
  2. xbeerd, Did you ever come up with the missing chapters in the Subaru manual? or did you scan the whole thing over? you can email me at BioHazard2222@gmail.com Thanks! BioHazard2222
  3. Sweet82...

Did you happen to keep track of the angles that you bent the tubes on your Stalker? I was just going through the drawings getting ready to build (After some time dinking around with other stuff) and noticed that most of the bends don't have a angle called out, they have a radius called out but not the actual angle.

I suppose I can guess the angle with a protractor, but just thought if you had any notes on it that would be a great big help...

I emailed Rhino and they told be that the fella that sold the Stalker plans sold the "Rhino Buggies" business to another fella which did not buy the buggy plans, but just the "Hummer" looking builds they still do, so he does not have access to the original CAD files to look up the angles and/or convert to inch measurements from metric.

Thanks again for any and all of your help...

  4. ya, we must have ended up with the same manual. I think it was stripped out because it is for an aeronautical purpose, not automotive, now that I think about it.

  5. Did you ever end up getting the clutch section of the Sub Manual? I looked at mine to see if I could send you mine and realized I was missing it also, and as it turns out I am missing Sections 2-6 Carburetor, 2-9 Exhaust, 2-10 Clutch, 2-11 Eng & Tran Mounting and all of sections 3, 4 and 5... Do you have any of those sections? Maybe we ended up with the same PDF File that is not complete.

  6. I am gonna go look at it in the next day or so... Looks to be in very good condition from the pics I have of it... Was owned by a 80 year old...
  7. New to USMB!!! Eager to Learn and Build I am looking at a 1988 Subaru GL Sedan 4wd, Hi-Lo, 5speed... All I want is the running gear, I would assume the running gear is the same as a Wagon, but can someone tell me if that is in fact true? I am planning on building a tube framed buggy based on the Stalker plans that I bought probably 10 years ago, similar to Sweet82's and Tubesoob... I just wanted to be sure I wasn't creating more work for myself by getting different running gear. Thanks in advance for any and all help!
  8. Yea... I think I want to modify a couple of things on it as I build it... I have been trying to go through and converting the MM to Inch...

The brace you are talking about is the # 58 or 73 in attached image?rhino.jpg

did you just move it back, or get rid of it or ???

Also what type of things did you have to do on you pedal assy? You mention that the plans are set for right hand drive and its not so easy to move them to left hand drive...

Would you be willing to share your build pics with me? either via e-mail, or I set up a FTP area on my web that you could access... ftp.highroadstudios.com username: rhinobuild password: BuggyBuild1

Then they would be visible via highroadstudios.com/rhinobuild

Did you just add the Heater core and blower in the heater box from the Subaru under the dash?

Thanks again for any and all help

  9. No problem, I had pics documenting the whole build but when we changed boards all the pics were removed. I have only uploaded a few pics back to the board.

I'd consider modifying the plans before you start building.

For starters, I dropped the front 6" from what the plans called for.

Better vision and no real need for a hood that high.

I put the hood at the height at the top of the radiator.

Second thing I did was to stretch the plans to a four seater version.

You'll also need to move one of the chassis braces back fairly far from what the plans call for. A 25X12X12 tire won't fit until you move the brace backwards.

I'd build the heater into the plans. You'll never regret having heat during the fall/winter season.

    Later,

    Glenn

  10. Sweet82...

I was getting ready to Build a stalker, (I bought plans years ago, but never built it), and I have been reading many threads on this forum, and most of links to pics are broken in the posts that you had posted of you buggy, do you have pics you would be willing to share? mostly for encouragement and ideas? Any other lessons you have learned would be awesome as well... Unless you think it would be better to start a new thread and share it publicly...

I live down in Corvallis, OR. and wanting to use the buggy for out in the woods and take it east over in the desert as well...

    Thanks for your time!

    Kevin
