Looks like my car when it was stock, what are the plans for her?
-
ere's another pic, the bolts that hold this section of the hitch on only came with some bigger flat washers so I decided to use a 1/4" thick plate of steel and grade 8 bolts to sandwich it together. Granted if those grade 8s ever happen to fail I probably shouldn't be towing something that big anyways.

Damn, where do you live Mike? I forget if I asked before.

I was actually living in golden when I sold the wagon, it had black white spoke rims with chrome beauty rings. That thing was so straight and ran great. I REALLY regretted selling it but had to for some reason or another. I think the guy I sold it to lived in the capitol hill area and maybe his name was Josh? We now have since moved to Cheyenne and apparently im the only older subaru lover here as everyone looks at my lifted wagon like its a spaceship haha. I see the WRX guys but its not the same. That brat of yours looks great man, how many ridiculous offers did you get off of craigslist?

Well? Today is yesterdays tomorrow, did you finish up that starter? I had full intentions of installing a hitch on my car after work today, yet I arrived and had not the slightest amount of motivation. Perhaps tomorrow. But only if this baby stays in thy wife a little longer.

I was wondering if maybe by chance you had bought my flat army green 84' wagon back in 2008ish, but apparently not. I remember seeing the halo edition brat for sale on craigslist for a long time recently.

Bend huh? I tell ya I could go for a fresh squeezed ipa from Deschutes in their pub right now! That brat will be a fun project when you can get to it.

That's interesting and I like it, it sounds alot cleaner than spraying stuff all over the place and making a mess. Thanks for the tip! -
For $200, thats a sweet deal. Where did you get it from?

Wow, I went on that huge rant and ramble about no thing and forgot I wanted to tell you that on that same car the tranny went out after I started having problems with that 4WD stuff. I was driving down the road and the tranny would clunk out of gear then clunk back in an veer to the left hard! It was terrifying, and yes it was a 5 speed manual. My brother seemed to think maybe the differential in the tranny had broke? But who knows.

I had a 90' loyale with that dumb pushbutton 4WD and the solenoid stopped working on it so I attached a long piece of tie wire that came up by the engine and I would pull it to engage then I had a decent size stick that I would use to push it back for FWD haha how janky. Of course it was winter and I felt no need to troubleshoot that solenoid problem. I also moved the button from the stick to the dash and labeled it "shityeah"or something like that later on. Had alot of fun in that car!

I'm curious, what trick do you use with propane to find vacuum leaks? I've always used a spray like brake cleaner sprayed around the intake, carb etc while it was running cause the fluid would block the leak for a second to help narrow down an area. -
Haha that's hilarious! Sounds like a typical subaru guy, it's rather terrifying if you were to wreck and that thing came flying at or around your face!

What helped me do the knock sensor is taping the edge of the bolt with electrical tape into the socket so it would hold it, then as soon as its tightened you can easily pull the socket up.
