  1. What's up everyone? I have sold a quad headlight grill and headlight buckets to a fella in Australia and as you can imagine it is quite a long ways to ship. He wants to convert his Brat to a quad GL setup and the question I have is have any of you done this conversion and is there anything else he might need? I'd hate to send him just the grill and buckets just to have to send more later. I appreciate any help you guys are willing to give. Also, is there a write up I am missing? A quick Google search was fruitless! Thanks again, Levi This is for a first gen Brat...obviously haha
  2. Haha this dude lives in the same town as my inlaws! I saw it one day in the parking lot of the grocery store while I was going in, but was gone by the time I came out. I was VERY curious about it and wanted to ask him. I believe it was on a chevy silverado.
  3. Seems like kind of a dumb thing to ask but how confident are you in your battery and it's connections? On my 92' Loyale the battery kept dying until I took the battery out and put brand new terminals on the positive and negative. When I had it out I also put it on the slow charger to get it up to 100% and haven't had a problem since. Figured I'd throw my 2 cents in. Happy hunting!
  4. Haha keep dreaming home boy. No I'm talking the beat up parts car sitting out there with a great 5 speed D/R. Heck you could even buy that whole car and convert your EA81 to fuel injected with the stuff on it. That's an idea as well, I will probably end up selling the Brat after I get it running and driving good so I can focus more on my loyale...and also to finance stuff like a rebuilt motor. I put the brat up on jack stands today to check out the tranny and come to find out, it has no oil in it. So I'm going to put some oil in it and see what happens. That would be alot easier then removal and replace.
  5. Go 4"! lift that sucker up! Then do a fresh EJ frankenmotor. Heck, you trade me your EA81 with its tranny and you can straight up take the 88 wagon and use the EA tranny and rearend for your brat when you do the EJ swap. Solves my Brat tranny issues and also the EA71 problem haha. Summer!
  6. Those four bolts wouldn't work anyways as they bolt the hub to the brake rotor, that would probably lead to problems. Your best bet is what you've already done with the 6 lug redrill.
  7. The only other 4 bolt rim I can think of are those that are on the older hondas like the civics but I doubt you'll find any rims that match that pattern. You just drive them? You don't have any fun in them basically? Haha. It's cool, to each their own bro.
  8. You are smarter than I, friend haha. Can't wait to see the final product!
  9. What do you do with your subies then? The lift looks great by the way.
  10. Nicely done! The only thing I can suggest doing and wish I would've done is get an old six wheel like the Toyota one you have and after you grind the back side of the hubs so the studs sit flat, mount the hub onto the wheel and put the studs in with a nut tightened down so that the stud is straight through the hole when you weld the back side. I failed to do this and had to knock them around a little bit which sucked.
  11. With that beautiful snowy lot, how is there no picture of a few donuts being made?!
  12. Just goes to show you how bulletproof these engines are haha
  13. Nicely done! Bummer that the links just go to Ebay and Craigslist links, it would be cool if they linked to pictires of the cars themselves.
  14. Finished it all up after work! I bolted it straight through the tube and the cross bars using 4" stainless eye bolts and nylon nuts. Then I cut 3" off the ends of the cross bars with my band saw. Just need some cross bar end caps now. This rack project is something I've had in my garage since summer. Feels good to get it done, now to build a new from bumper including a skid plate
  15. That...is...beautiful. Great job dude. This is pretty much what I envision when I think of the perfect second gen brat. I bet that EJ22 makes it alot of fun to drive to, right? Hey machthree take note!
  16. Yeah, that does sound easier. Hey Gloyale where do you get the 7/16 exhaust stud and nut from, and what length do you use?
  17. Just need a drill, the helicoil set was kind of expensive though, like $50-$70 but so soo worth it. I got mine from Napa.
  18. What Dave said, it would be wise to get a good helicoil set just to have if you own a subaru haha. I had never heard of helicoils till I owned a subaru! They are really easy to do, you will have to drill out the old hole and re tap it for the helicoil but it's aluminum and real easy to do.
  19. Makes sense! But now you have to make some rear jump seats for your friends!
  20. Wow, that's amazing you survived that wreck. I'm assuming you were wearing your seat belt? What car was the drunk driver driving that hit you?
  21. Crappy, you should've titled it "Hit and tried to run" though haha. Glad you caught him and at least your car stopped him from plowing into the house!
