Aahhhggg, I'm, not up an all my "Safari" lingo, sorry, but you do have a cool hat!!!!
-
All you'd need was a stingray sticking out of your chest!!!
-
Yeah, Safari man!!!
-
You'd like the Dells, lots of places to take pics. but over commercialized. Got to get off the beaten path.
-
Yeah,I liked the Dells too. Made me think I should go back there, just not if I'm triing to get somewhere else in a hurry!

:lol:Confuse anyone???? I am the navigation guru!!! (Don't listen to anyone else in that regard!!! ) Clue me in on the shortest route, and I will be there!!! (What you would "personally do") -K (in a PM?)
-
Sounds like a plan!! Maybe in a couple weeks, or so... I was thinking of maybe heading up 41, and taking 10 over... (It looks like it would be shorter????)

Haha Heartless! Tom, What up? No "after" pics. posted yet???
-
Yep, fuel pump is mechanical, got a NOS one on my shelf,(probably cause they're never bad). But guy I bought car from was old, and it probably sat for 8mons. of any given year. (he drove it in parades and such) If I bought rebuild kit and drove 5 hrs. to you, would you help me re-build it??
-
Heartless, You are right(of course) I can get a replacement for the brass bit, if need be. I borrowed a heat gun and a chunk of scrap metal (for a shield) tonight. (Also aquired a syringe to apply the "magic juice" (Gibbs) to the threads) I intend to do everything within my power to remove said object myself.
-
Thanks for the tips, will find a chunk of scrap when I go on my "borrowing" spree tonight. No it is not running, hasn't run since last fall when I tried to move it from the garage to one of my sheds out back. It would start,(w/a squirt of go-juice) but not run. That led me to the filter, OR maybe, the fuel pump (which I plan to check when/if I get this fu**in filter off.

Me Likey that blue!!!!
-
Thanks, I will try that-(can borrow one tonight)- heat gun not enough to make it go boom! ???? (the filter is in there) What do you suggest as a "shield" for the steel line??
-
I know what you are talking about, In my circle, we call it a line wrench, (had to teach Tom that) The package says "flare nut wrench"..That's what I've been using. Someone suggested the El-cheapos I bought, may have "flexed" so I borrowed a "Matco" from my buddy-NO better.:-\
-
It is steel line, going into a brass fitting that holds the filter, that then threads into the carb. Need to hold the brass fitting w/a 1" wrench, then turn out the steel fuel line. 5/8" wrench is just a smidge loose on the line, haven't tried pounding on a 15mm yet, but it may come to that. Like to try to avoid cutting the line but.... I've tapped it w/hammer, I tried putting a looooong pipe on the wrench. :-\
-
Wouldn't let anothers hands touch "your body" hey? But, can and will help w/ the blending though!!!
-
Had a "big" friend over, he tried to loosen fuel line on El Camino, won't budge.. Convinced "other friend" to let me have a little "Gibbs" in the bottom of an empty spice container. If that doesn't work- I don't know- cut out the fuel line...

And now, for something completely different.... [2001 H6 3.0] I need to address noise coming from sepentine belt area, hoping that it's just idler/tensioner pulley bearings, and not something more costly. Read in here a while back that the H6 3.0's have this issue... Got a few ????'s.... Haven't priced out the pulleys yet, but my searches revealed changing just the bearings was the way to go... Tips/Advise????? Would both bearings be the same? Got a couple parts #'s from 2 different sources, one is Napa 6203-2rsj, other is Parts Master PM203FF. Are these correct? once I take it apart, don't have another car running right now for trips to the parts store.... Haven't done much Subaru fixing (as this is my first) And the "stupid" Haynes book I have, shows nothing like this H6 (pics must be of only 2.5's) Grossgary advised to remove belt tension, just put a wrench on lower pulley. So.... to put the belt back on, I just tighten that pulley? and tension will be fine?? Nothing like G.M.- where we put a prybar on alternator to tighten??
