  1. Very nice:headbang:. I wish that was "Just behind my house" that scenery is awesome!
  2. You need to put the car on 0' TDC For the #1 cylinder and then put the distributor in, pointed at the #1 plug wire. It's probably a tooth off. Then re-time per your vehicle.
  3. The water pump depends on if you have a mechanical fan attached to it or not, I believe. As for a parts source...check this link out. I recommend the "SubaruPartsForYou" site. Since you have the T-Belts off already, replace the oil pump seals, front crank seal, cam seals (There is a regular seal and a o-ring that sits behing the plate that holds the regular seal). So, once you replace the cam seals, front seal, and oil pump seals, it shouldn't leak anymore...or much...it's a Subaru, they always leak slightly. Here's a link to a timing belt procedure.
  4. I saw your hatch and brat while going to the avalanche command post, at the railyard. Are you on here?
  5. This is a blow to the trust that this community has with one another.
  6. I've done that. But he doesn't have a welder and he's probably trying to make it easier on the guy that does have a welder.
  7. Dude that sucks...I hope it isn't for good, I always hate to see stuff like this happen. :-\
  8. How familar are you with the EA engine? Did you do the timing belts right?
  9. AMEN! I love those things. I just wished they had them in the offset wrenches like these . Harbor Freight has those, but only standard. They'd be good for that lower b!+ch bolt on the driver side tranny.
  10. I've heard that sometimes all they want is to be fed and beer:drunk:. But now-a-days, maybe some gas money.
  11. I'd assume these, if he's using them again...but you never know.
  12. That's what they are, they are a metal ring cover with rubber to be general. They cost 2.63each at http://www.rockauto.com and you need 2. You have to take the cam cases off each side of the engine. Maybe you can talk a board member to help you out, if they live close, it's not too hard of a job...when the engine is out of the car.
  13. Check your oil , if that is good, Change your oil and use a subaru oil filter. Use a good name brand oil, I use castrol high mileage 20X50. Then run it for a while...if the ticking doesn't go away, you may have to reseal or replace your oil pump. But, the ticking isn't harmfull, my RX has it most the time. Just embarassing. Does it sound like the ticking is from each side of the engine or a certain side/piston? I'd drive it like it is. Also, welcome to the world of EA82. That is referred to as the "Tick of Death (TOD)" But it doesn't mean your motor is gunna go, just a funny name.
  14. I've only had these things break more than any Subaru I've had. You'll see that things break on anything, no matter what the platform. Cool video though:popcorn:. I like the bumper.
  15. Uhhh.... J/k I want a meet in greet! I'm upi in Orygun though.
  16. Congrats on the two years. My G/F and I just had our 7, yeah we got together in high school at 15, ok done with my life story. What about spare hoses? Spare axle? I think you'll be just fine though. It's always good to carry extra stuff, cause you probably won't need it, but if you didn't have it, you would need it. And a good jack with a jack stand? Duct tape!!:headbang:I've seen that hold a 1" gash in a coolant hose.
  17. We have the ea81 lifts down. Working on EA82s. And for a rear bumper, do you mean the box type or the tube type. I just made a front and rear set of tubes for a member and it had a 2" receiver in the rear.
  18. I'm still waiting for mine...kinda sucks being 2 months into the year.
