  1. Maybe the vacuum line coming off of the back of the intake to the tranny is loose or leaking?
  2. http://portland.craigslist.org/car/141623149.html
  3. If you're good at pneumatic controll and such, you could fab up your own air ride system. Just get a set of air struts ( I have the front two from a 1987 gl-10:brow:) and run the lines with a couple of selenoids hooked to switches.
  4. YES. It's assembled. NO I don't have a serial cable to test it tonight. I'll keep everyone updated on how it goes with my Turbo Wagon. (Possible MS kits on the horizon;))
  5. HAH HAH...how about you check those out then tell us if it fixes it or not. Mine does it too. I've heard "it's a ground", but I've added grounds up the yin yang, still does it.
  6. Yes...what the title asked. What is the I.D. of that pesky tube that goes from the top of the engine to the intake manifold on an EA81. It was too dark when I tried checking. Thanks. -Justin.
  7. Well, is it fuel injected? If so, it helps with the Air to Fuel ratio. It's a $20 part, no reason, other than money, not to change it. As for the exhaust rustin out, ever thought of painting it with some cheap high temp paint? To see if that would slow down the oxidizing?
  8. Here is a try at the solution. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/USRM2/Transmission/Governor/ATgovenorclean.htm
  9. Hah will the stickers add more HP!?. That's awesome. Most people would say "that's ghetto" or "how backyard mechanic-ish". I say screw those people, they happen to have money coming out of their a$$ and would pay someone to do the work in the first place. That's why I like Subarus and this board. I like doing stuff myself, even if that means it'll take longer than paying someone. Adapt, overcome, and improvise. End Rant. -Justin.
  10. HAH HAH, what subaru of that era doesn't have that under the oil cap? In all my experiences, you're ok. What I do, every now and then, is let my car idle, while warmed up, with the oil cap off...an attempt to have the moisture steam out.
  11. I have the PDF of the Factory Service Manual...it's just the schematics are sooo small and if you enlarge it, some of the words/letters aren't legible.
  12. Yeah, as long as you reef on it and put the cotter pin in and good. You'll have no problems. I put mine at 150lbs and have no problems.
  13. Where is the most reliable source for wiring Diagrams. Ok...I Know FSMs are...but what about chiltons or haynes. Or can anyone lead me to a good engine wiring diagram for any turbo 87 +. Thanks! Justin.
  14. I meant "Not a toyota" because that's the only vehicle I have owned that says something along the lines of needs a feeler guage to tighten your front "axle" nuts.
  15. No, you want it tight. Like 150ft/lbs tight. This isn't a toyota. This holds your spindle together.
  16. You'll just need your basic toolset. PLus a 36mm socket (or crescent wrench) tool pull the castle nut off. An impact is a plus but not required. Um...I've done brakes by undoing the castle nut, and the four 14mm(headed) bolts that hold the rotor to the spindle. And you just tap the end of the axle stub with a soft faced hammer (better keep the castle nut on, but loose). Oh yeah, that brake cylinder...you need a special tool, or just a pair of needle nose pliars. You have to open the bleeder and twist it clockwise for it to go in. There is another way of doing it without opening the bleeder...anyone know?
  17. It probably will. 4wd on these older cars is for when "Wheel slip is expected" Like snow, ice, and mud. There isn't a center differential in most of the older trannies. Putting it in 4wd on asphault will cause the wheels to bind up...especially on tight turns. This in turn puts a lot more stress on your axles and you whole drive train. Best case scenario (if anything were to go wrong) you break an axle. One worst case you bust your tranny. Put your car in 4lo and make a tight turn...you will hear wheel chirp and your car might even hop. But hey, if you go fast and this is just a fun car (or if you have backup cars) who cares. HAVE FUN!
  18. HAH HAH I just re-read the post. I'm tired....I thought you wanted to have the seats removable.
  19. My friend is thinking about converting his ea81 to an ea82t....(I'm yelling EJ EJ EJ) would any wiring harness from 87.5 and up plug into and work for any 87.5 ECU? If not, please explain the possibilities.
  20. Is there a demand for megasquirt units? I'm thinking of a business idea:grin:.
  21. Hello. Do you want to know the thickness of the brake rotor(disc)?
